I managed to get FreeDOS to boot on modern hardware by booting Debian as a compatibility layer to run a virtual machine, and have the virtual machine start after booting without a login.

I did it by "hijacking" a file that is normally used to configure desktop setups: .xprofile.

Kotlin 2.1 has a new linker, plus an upgrade from LLVM 11 to 16.

There is also a compiler flag to disable some optimisations, the `-Xdisable-phases', which we can use to disable the LTO optimisation.

There is a flag to profile the compiler phases (works on 2.0 too), the `-Xprofile-phases`

Totally agree! Linux’s flexibility with input methods is a huge win for ergonomics. If you want to make that permanent, don't forget to add it to your startup applications/xprofile! Stay comfortable.

ついにArchLinuxのChromeで日本語入力できない問題直った！！！

.xprofileにfcitxの環境変数設定してもダメで、.zshrcに設定したらシェルからコマンド起動すれば日本語入力にできた。
同様にランチャーから起動する場合も、起動コマンドの頭に環境変数つけてあげれば上手くいった。

一番綺麗な方法とは言えないけど、永遠に日本語入力使えなかったことを思うとメチャクチャ便利。嬉しい。

いつの間にか Steam Deck のデスクトップモードで日本語入力ができなくなってる。

fcitx5 も fcitx5-mozc もインストール済みでタスクバーにアイコンも常駐しているのだが、肝心の IME の切り替えができない。トグルボタンがグレーアウトしている。

少し調べたら、どうやらプロファイル作って環境変数エクスポートする必要があるらしい。

とりあえず下記サイトを参考に .xprofile 作って再起動したら使えるようになったのでヨシとする。

先程、ManjaroLinux+i3wm環境で yayをしたら、ファイラのdolphinとかCopyQなどおそらくKDE系アプリだと思うけどテーマが適用されなくなって、配色がおかしいとかアイコンが表示されないという状況になった、そこで色々調べてみて
~/.xprofileあたりに
export QT_QPA_PLATFORMTHEME='qt5ct'
と環境変数を設定してあげたらyayする直前の表示に戻った

また単独で適用させたい時は
dolphin --platformtheme qt5ct
とか
QT_QPA_PLATFORMTHEME='qt5ct' dolphin
でもいけた
