On our way to YVR, decided to make a stop in YYC to visit friends.

They know we love a good noodle, and we’re vegan so they took us to Nan’s Noodlehouse and it was absolutely delightful.

If you live in Calgary check it out.

With respect to YVR in particular, people logically have an 'if it isn't broken, why fix it?' mentality. Given that it is already one ofthe world's best airports, a new ownership scheme seems likely, just based on mean reversion, to make it worse, not better, over time.

Such as municipalities or various pension funds. It would be interesting who would operate. Kept locally or firms like Vantage Group (a YVR spinoff, now owned by NY based firm) that operates airports around the world.

I wasn't talking about the scenic value. I was talking about the ability to change plans easily and quickly based upon fluid ground situation. Preclear in YVR is also a good choice. You won't end up in a TX detention from there.

Seattle resident w Canadian family. Consider flying in and out of Vancouver. Pay the extra for refundable/changeable ticket, so you can easily alter based on current situation. Then rent a car in YVR and drive thru the border. It's a bit more predictable, less scary than an airport basement.
