Stopped at Bundalong on the way home from Yarrawonga. Beautiful river. Ugly yobbo boating culture. Feel rather sorry for the animals who have to put up with the humans revving speedboats up and down the riverway

Today's historic pic: Broad gauge Diesel Electric RailMotor (DERM) 63RM hauling a BPL carriage on a Mulyarra to Seymour rail enthusiasts day-tour calls at Yarrawonga, Vic, March 14 1987. Yarrawonga is 260km from Melbourne on the Oaklands line that was converted from broad to standard gauge in 2010.

Sunset over Lake Yarrawonga 15 April 2018. The colour scheme is gold and orange. The sun sets brightly over to the left, reflecting on the water. The water has slight ripples on it. It is fairly shallow and the silhouettes of many bare-branched trees are dotted around the lake. This photo is in my collection but I honestly can’t remember if I took it or the ex took it. He probably did because he was very good at that sort of thing.

Today's historic pic: Grain silos tower in the background as a broad gauge BPL car attached to DERM 63RM on a rail enthusiasts Seymour to Mulwala day-tour sits at the station at Yarrawonga, Vic, March 14 1987. Yarrawonga is 260km from Melbourne on the Benalla to Oaklands line.
A single storey polychrome brick railway station with peaked green roof is seen from the street side. Just the rear of a wooden bodied red liveried BPL passenger car sitting at the platform behind the station building is just visible at right. A handful of people, presumably passengers from the train, are wandering around on the station forecourt. Behind the station, a series of large white cylindrical metal grain silos loom over the scene. An enclosed conveyor runs above the silos connecting them together.
