It's fairly interesting to view this in the lens of what it is: Takahashi revisiting the premise of (arguably) her most recognizable work. Fairly interesting to contrast with Yashahime, too. Fairly interesting. That's what I'd call it. It has intrigue but it's difficult to drum up passion for.

same shit with yashahime i could never understand how anyone from a business perspective thought sidelining the characters you've built up and promoted this entire time for derivative one's that are never gonna recapture that original magic was a good idea. Frankly this is why dragon ball z won
I hope this boruto situation makes studios realize how terrible the "their facsimile children(who are not their parents), are doing the exact same thing as their parents(who they are not), look at how much they're just like their parents(let me reiterate that they are not them)" idea is as a premise

Maybe, but it hasn't exactly been relevant in quite a few years. And Yashahime doesn't exactly help matters given how... divisive it is. And that's the nicest thing I'll say about that.
On the other hand, Ranma and Urusei Yatsura got a revival due to the re-adaptations they're getting.

I heard it was for guys, and was advertised as such, but idk. I guess the action appealed to guys more. *liked the cute guys and social parts more* Then there was Yashahime. Felt more seinen than shonen to me.

Fanart of Sango from Inuyasha/Yashahime! She's gotten a little pudgy since settling down with Miroku and having kids hehe. She can't seem to find Kirara though! Can you help her?! 🥺💖

Ohhh that's be so nice!
Here's also another idea: from my previous fandom, a group of artist/writers collaborated together to create a fanbook so that it was given to one of the japanese animators of Yashahime who shipped Sessrin (sesshomaru x rin) with thank you message for always drawing the ship
