Working with #yellow

Yellow is often considered to be a ‘difficult ‘ colour, but I have always loved it! ☺️

A very large abstract painting (I’m guessing about 150 x 250cm as that studio wall is 3m wide) Mostly yellow, on white primed linen canvas, with various tones of green in leaf-like abstract shapes, with curved marks scored through the surface layers The painting is stapled to a wooden plank wall, with many splatters of old paint on the main painting support area of another smooth type of timber. There is a lot of white powder on the floor (marble dust used to add texture in the oil and cold wax medium of this painting) Me in my studio (middle aged white woman, with black glasses and white blonde hair) with the initial yellow layers on a large canvas stapled to the wall behind me and to my right. I am smiling into my phone camera. The painting comprises, so far, of sweeping curved marks, nearly vertical, but crossing each other, leaving a white unpainted oval shape of bare white-primed canvas just to the right of centre. There are also some umber and greenish marks in the surface. A heavily textured painting, yellow and white, with concentric, almost circular scored marks within a mostly oblong shape. The coarse jute canvas support can be seen at the outer edges A painting of abstracted daffodils, shown in a yellow ‘feathered’ edge nearly circular mass, with petal-like edges, above a vertical, round bottomed yellow and white ‘dumpy vase’ shape, on a turquoise/teal background. The painted edges of an almost square have been taped to reveal a sharp edge of rough jute canvas support
