Johnny Young, the iconic host of the beloved children's talent show Young Talent Time, has passed away at the age of 79 following a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. His family announced his death, prompting heartfelt tributes from stars like Tina Arena and Dannii Minogue, who credited him with shaping their careers. Young, born in the Netherlands and raised in Perth, became a household name through his work on the show, which launched the careers of Jamie Redfern, Debra Byrne, and Asher Keddie. Beyond television, he was a successful singer-songwriter, penning hits for Russell Morris and Ronnie Burns. Arena, who joined Young Talent Time in 1974, called him a father figure who taught her discernment early in her career. Minogue, who first appeared on the show at age eight, described his legacy as a cornerstone of Australian pop culture. His signature send-off, 'All My Loving,' remains etched in national memory. Young's contributions to music and television, along with his family and industry connections, ensure his impact endures. A memorial service is planned for his loved ones and fans.
