Die Stellung Bois Carré, 1,4 km östlich von Yvrench, war die erste von der alliierten Aufklärung enttarnte V1-Stellung.

Aufgrund der schweren Luftangriffe feuerten die Deutschen nicht eine einzige V1 aus dem Wald bei Yvrench.

General Haig visited Yvrench on 26th August 1916 to see a tank attack demonstration. He wrote that the demo was "quite encouraging"

Nov 1943, and is of the launch site at Bois Carre, near Yvrench on the Somme. The same site is shown after the attacks which started on this day.
