with everything going on today i have suddenly, unfortunately been reminded of this

( web.archive.org/web/20250107... )
posts from me on cohost: tutorial video: you can bring unsupported files like ZIP files into Resonite, and if someone clicks on the Export File button, it'll be downloaded from your computer to theirs! ...someone has used this to make a very inconvenient P2P filesharing network, haven't they --- the year is 2025. i want to pay an artist for their finest pornography. i send a paypal payment with no identifying information; ignoring whatever name they had several genders ago. on my reciept, a date, time and world GUID. i find xem under the streetlight, waiting with the goods. xey have already jacked out by the time i go to thank xem and i sigh as i twist the dial back to reality too we will keep finding whatever ways we can to route around the system. but i hate that we have to keep doing so. constantly.
