October 11, 2026 at 4:03 PM
standard doses of zyrtec/claritin, maybe should have gone heavier
October 12, 2026 at 6:35 PM
just took a shot of dayquil with a zyrtec chaser since the claritin has been struggling to keep up

My blood type is Zyrtec positive.

Looks like the key trigger was my running out of Zyrtec during ragweed season. Lesson learned. Benadryl alone no longer suffices.
I stg if I’ve developed a nightshade allergy, I’m done.

it's basically the worst thing for my minor cat allergy but i have zyrtec and pseudoephedrine so is there really a downside

allergies are acting up, & I was feeling tired, so I walked Kona for several miles and then took a short jog. It helped. Now I need Zyrtec, Flonase, and a hot shower.

Fantastic! I hope you get useful results from the tests, good luck with the zyrtec.

best feeling ever: doc believed me about likely #MCAS, recommended I increase my zyrtec to 2 2/day, and I just had like seven vials of blood drawn for testing. I am happy.
i have been waiting four months for a doc appt for this Friday and while normally I have 0 fucks left wrt new docs and treat first appts as a job interview for *them*, I'm really nervous about this one. This is the first doc I've found at *all* who might be able to help with all my undx'd stuff.

Yeah, the dose for mast cell activation is larger than the dose for allergic rhinitis! Zyrtec is cetirizine and Claritin is loratidine: for both of them, the dose is 20mg, about 2 hours before the vaccine. If you're really susceptible/have subclinical mast cell symptoms, you can even go higher.

someone bring me advil and maybe a zyrtec.

I was taking a Zyrtec midday with my bp meds. I stopped taking those, so I just haven’t taken the Zyrtec. Mistake.

Zyrtec likes this

I wish I'd done allergy shots before I retired. I can't afford them now. You'll find the right kitties. I have 2. Zyrtec & Flonase keep me comfortable.

I have too many sad & sorry tales from taking Zyrtec 😔

I take daily Zyrtec and still have allergies when things are especially bad. I often do an extra flush or don't take it for a couple of days like a system reset.

Sophie is scratchy. Now she gets half a Zyrtec every day. Wish any vet would’ve recommended it earlier, instead of insisting it was fleas that they never found on her. It would have saved her years of hair loss and sores!

I did the antihistamine protocol with my Covid jab yesterday (Pfizer) and had almost no effects aside from the standard arm pain. I felt a little weird at lunch today (22 hours later) so I took some ibuprofen and two more Zyrtec, and I felt better almost immediately.

For the first time I tried @rahaeli.bsky.social's protocol of taking 2 Zyrtec a couple hours before the appt. Will report back!

My ears and throat are itchy and have been for the past week or so! I feel you! (And that’s with nightly Singulair and daily Claritin or Zyrtec!)

I am feeling slightly unwell - that PNW Fall sinusitis. I have a very good rotation of meds but it is now time for my Advil Tylenol Zyrtec cocktail and I can't move. Send reinforcements.

Great story! We adopted all of ours from the shelter we volunteer at fairly regularly. We still have a hard time saying no to more, but my wife is already allergic enough. She has to take a Zyrtec every time we go. So we do say no, reluctantly. We will inevitably foster in retirement, and fail😊
