Meet Zarafasaura: The Long-Necked "Sea Monster"!
Zarafasaura (Zaa-RAH-fa-SORE-ra) was a small elasmosaurid plesiosaur from the Late Cretaceous seas of Morocco (72–66 mya). Its name comes from "zarafa", the Arabic word for giraffe—this one had 56 vertebrae!
A few fun facts about Zarafasaura:

Horsin' Around: Taebyn, dressed in a sheriff deputy costume, and Zarafa pulling off shenanigans with a prop horse-head-on-a-stick at the Furlandia 2026 main stage entrance and signage.

I can’t believe it. He was an absolute pillar in the Bay Area furry community involved in nearly every event as far back as I can remember and so full of life and enthusiasm. Danced with him so many times at Frolic. He introduced Zarafa to furry.
@spottacus.org passed away last night. I'm destroyed. I'm distraught. I can't breathe over the tears. I love you forever hun.
