Working in a methodical pattern, she circled through the outer districts and a web of her own recollection. Places she’d fucked. Places she’d fought. Parties she’d fallen out of, and beds she’d fallen into. The corner junction not far from James’s old dorms, where she’d kissed him on a whim and formed a habit of her own. Stupid damn fucker. She was cross and concerned in equal measure, full of stodge and still searching for him so he could fucking explain himself.

Shift augmentation at the processing facility was an orderly affair. Timecards (not jaws) to punch as she passed through the gates. The faulty generator was on the third floor, mineral extraction, but she could have found it without the site schematic. She just had to follow the noise. Chief Engineer Jon Turner, Jonty to his crew as Tomasz had called him, was engaged in a fierce rally with his counterparts from the Merchants Guild and the Mining Company, throwing everything short of curse words their way as they hit trite soundbites back.

In #ZendariaChronicles, Annette goes by anything BUT her full name, which is for "births, deaths, and important paperwork in between" 📃 She goes by Nan, Nani (close friends and family) or Cameron (her family name). She also has a sign name which is a C followed by sparks

In his silent solitude, Maximilian turned to a battered, pink copybook. Poetry. Verse in his mother’s native script, which he traced with a looping pattern. Warp and weft, two threads of a narrative making a whole. Zendaria burns with the beauty of a thousand lesser stars / She (parent, female?) protects her children fiercely Maximilian had been born in darkness. The only stars he knew lived in his parents’ minds. Male, and female. Marwell and Po-Lin. Two threads of another narrative which had never made a whole.

The "casualties" in #ZendariaChronicles continue to mount 🤣

Annette used to have 2 sisters, Helena/Bairn and Maegret, in addition to her 2 brothers, Benjamin/Moose and Jacob/Jakus. Maximilian had 6 or 7 kids?? Now he has 1, lol.

Basically they weren't adding anything to the story, so ✂️

Tried to find a better example, but the FMC Annette in #ZendariaChronicles spends a vast proportion of the book sweaty, mucky or both.
Annette did not feel lucky. She felt like her skin was a separate layer between her flesh and sweat-damp clothing, part of neither and grating against both. Every inch of her vibrating.

The big holiday that makes an appearance in #ZendariaChronicles is Cording. It's a custom from the planet Elastor where friends, family and neighbours cut threads from their colours (like tartan) and braid them into bracelets to promote community in the coming year

For reasons, I would rather eat my own hands than re-read #ZendariaChronicles. Enter the bribe jar: 1 chapter read = 1 bead = 1 sprint I get to spend on more actively creative stuff.

Lp - I find it incredibly funny that out of all the ships and romances I've written, Hawke x Varric are the only ones I'd class as soulmates, and they are 100% "besties who bone".

Maybe Raya x Gabi x Mari from #ZendariaChronicles, but no-one else comes close to this haha

Ugh, I need to gush about one of the main relationships in this book: Annette and James (27F/28M, both kinda pan*/poly and he's a little genderqueer) 🥰 Their connection and love is so pure and raw, even if it's not "traditional"
