A view from my new wide-field refractor. M33 from a few nights back. I had a ZenithStar. Things went wrong after I added a focus motor. I spent a very long time trying to fix this. It didn't work out. Aksar65PHQ, thank you for existing. Finally, a flat field! #space #astronomy #science #askar

Our nearest galactic neighbour, the Andromeda galaxy, isn't really very pretty. Way back when, Apple pulled a satellite galaxy, M110 bottom right, out of its wallpaper for OSX to make everything more aesthetically pleasing. #science #astrophotography #astronomy

This is the Rosette Nebula NGC 2244, an emission nebula. It is a H II region located near one end of a giant molecular cloud in the Monoceros region of the Milky Way Galaxy. It has a radius of 65 light years and is 5,219 light years from earth.

Pinwheel Galaxy, 21 MILLION light years away 🤯

This is the result of 4 hr 40 min of total exposure time (each sub exposure was 2 minutes), all taken through my Zenithstar 61 telescope and QHY533C camera from my back deck in Saskatoon.

The moon is a fun target to test my new refractor (ZenithStar 61) on while I wait for clearer and darker skies.

Just aiming this thing is tricky compared to the ball head I used with my 135mm.
