zerospace is looking more and more like an actual playable 1v1 rts, I'm just god awful at the rhythm of at least grell's econ vs production vibe coming from a zerg perspective. it's like war3 style without a hero inventory or skill points, you have to fight kinda from the start in some way

Two I can think of immediately are They are Billions and ZeroSpace, the latter entering early access a few months ago. Although admittedly that's because of an SC2 streamer that's spent enough time on both I can remember them.

okay real talk though if nexon is truly getting the license to make SC3. they did make Shattered Galaxy which ZeroSpace already has a small element of...they could straight up just revive it and make SG2 except under the SC skin and it would make millions

zero-k(iirc relatively maximalist open source rts that gets updates still), the scouring(warcraft inspired? dunno much about), zerospace(kinda starcraft but with sp/coop/dynamic mp 'campaign' features more front and center and subfactions to pick from, i liked this more than other sc-inspired ones)

zerospace is looking good, they're fucking up war3 further, battle aces is dead, the sc2 intern might as well be balancing via chatGPT, and here I am bored as shit at stupid o'clock because the current best live RTS has like 4 total players and they're all probably gm equivalent

unfortunately, Zerospace has some real performance issues for me. The campaign especially. Will have to work out if it's a linux thing, a "the game is Early access and Not Done Yet(which they make clear)" thing or if my specs are starting to fall off.

also also I keep forgetting to harp on how absolutely excellent and *different* zerospace is in a good way. I haven't really tackled ladder yet but I'm practicing some goofy grell builds in vs ai and like...it's such a fresh approach and a well made balance of a few rts ideas
