I ordered a case of Zigzags

...zigzags, spirals. Not just one or two stars here and there, but dozens all across the sky, simultaneously. We pulled over in the middle of a cornfield and stared up at the sky for probably 10 or 15 minutes as the whole sky just erupted. Amazing. Terrifying. Totally alien. No idea what it was.

Money growth is never a straight line.
Your portfolio zigzags 📈

Your savings climb in steps.

Your investments curve slowly, then compound.

Sometimes it's a tangled mess: debt, inflation, bad calls… then the arrow points up.

What matters is staying in the game 🌱

Three thousand years ago, a Greek potter looked at a bowl and thought:

‘You know what this needs? A leg!’

Clay bowl with leg-shaped handle!🦵😆

Early Geometric period 850 BC. Altes Museum, Berlin 📷 by me

#Archaeology
My photo shows an ancient Greek pottery bowl with a rounded, deep body, wide open mouth and flared rim. It has a large handle shaped like a human leg, extending from the left side of the bowl in my photo, bending at a right angle and ending in a flat foot. The bowl has a camel-coloured surface decorated with dark brown geometric patterns, which include zigzags and meander motifs arranged in horizontal bands around the body of the bowl and along the leg. From Attica, Early Geometric period, circa 850 BC. It sits on a light stone coloured surface in a display case at the Altes Museum in Berlin.

Oh! We’d thought it was only illegal to park on the road beside zigzags. Is it also illegal on pavements (outside London)? Please could you put us right?

Sonic x Godzilla Part 4 - Amy x Mothra
The main heroine of the series always there to help anyone in need! And thanks to one of the two series' recent continuities, both are deeply close with the titular star! #artsofjd #art #digitalart #sonicthehedgehog #amyrose #godzilla #crossover
A digital drawing of Amy Rose from Sonic the Hedgehog wearing an outfit inspired by Mothra from the Godzilla series and Mothra films. Amy is wearing a brown bodysuit with a white faux fur neck collar and a white skirt with orange stripes. She wears brown boots with orange zigzags on them and white faux fur on the ankle parts. She has an orange hairband with white moth antennas on it. On Amy's back are Mothra wings attached to the bodysuit.

Just looked it up. It’s illegal to park on ”the carriageway” where there are white zigzags but not on the pavement (except in London & Scotland) - even though it compromises pedestrian safety. The law should be changed.

beware
A dense web of white dashed and scratchy lines on a black background, radiating from a small central hub like spokes, stitches or a broken map grid. A large, grainy hot-pink arm zigzags down from the top right, its fingertip touching a small glowing circle at the web's centre. Faint grey spire or flame shapes rise in the dark behind the lines. A hand-drawn monogram signature sits in the lower left corner.

Banette gijinkas!
Might be some of my favourites of the month :3

#art #pokemonart #pokemongijinka #pokemon #gijinka
A digital drawing of Banette- and Mega Banette-inspired gijinkas, placed on a greyish purple background. They do have fairly similar features, both having long, twisting dark grey hair, red eyes, yellow teeth and a generally tired appearance. They both also wear a gold, zipper shaped earring. Regular Banette’s hair zigzags down, and their bangs appear to be stuck down to their forehead. They have a very straight nose, and they wear red lipstick. Mega Banette has their hair twisting upwards, with gold streaks flowing through it. Their eyebrows are small dots, and they wear black lipstick. They each have rather distinct clothing styles. Regular Banette is in a grey loungewear set, consisting of a long shirt, large pants, and slippers. Mega Banette wears a very zippered outfit. The dress they wear is separated via an unzipped zipper into a short, jacket-like cropped top and a skirt that barely catches onto their hips. Both sleeves are also disconnected, one by a zipper on the shoulder and the other by the elbow. The dress and the upper sleeves are dark grey, with the lower part of the sleeves, along with a tentacle-like skirt layer, being a red-toned pink. They wear dark grey boots to match the dress, with a zipper on the inner side of them.

The snipe's flight is hard to follow (and photograph), as it zigzags in different directions and follows an unpredictable path, which gave rise to the other, by now less familiar saying, "drunk as a snipe" ("dronken als een snip/als een bezopen snip"). #Waders #BirdOfTheDay #Birds
A common snipe in flight, flying away from us. Its white belly is revealed, as well as the stripey pattern under its armpits. It head is light brown with darker brown stripes.

Quite unlike the homelife of our own, dear Simon Armitage puffin...
nd matching boots. And that stripy beak: he says it’s a row of medals but he stuck his nose in somebody’s trifle. Then later on, after forty winks and a custard tart he waddles along to the cliffs and belly flops into the waves below, AND SUDDENLY HE’S AN ACTION HERO, a fizz of bubbles and muscle, a blur of tumbles, zigzags and pirouettes, treasure-hunting for sprats and sand eels through seaweed, rip tide and heavy current. Is it a bird, is it a fish? No, it’s Superpuffin or Puffinman, with feet for rudders and wings for propellers, torpedoing into the depths then bursting the surface loaded with silver. Where sunlight hits spindrift his beak becomes rainbow.

… if I plan it right, I can use two of the pointed pieces pointing oppositely at each other, I can use the two-triangle combo piece as angled connection to create a hallway that zigzags a little bit, or a T-intersection at a slight angle.
When I get back from GHC I will glue some triangles together…
two triangular tiles positioned so one points up (middle of the photo) and one points down (middle-right in the photo). A square piece connects to the bottom of the center triangle, another square connects to the upper left of the center triangle, and another square connects to the top of the right triangle.

Did they see human shapes in the ivory, or use the grain as a template?
