Io Pan!

#Photoshop #Art #Zombiebites #Pan #IoPan #Alchemy #HymnToPan #PsycheDelectusTenebrarum #Dark

The image is dark with black and Reds, Pinks, Magenta, Teal, and Blues. At its center is the face of a bestial man. His face is lit with a vaguely heart shaped light as though he were leaning over a fire. His face is bifurcated with a central eye. The two eyes to the left and right are full of intensity and mania and perhaps humor, but the central eye is focused directly on the viewer. He may or may not be licking the lips of his two open mouths.

The central eye is blue, with blue energy oscillating around it. The left and right eyes reflect the light like a cat’s eyes in half light, but red. The face is edged with thick fur and what appear to be horns extending up from the temples. His ears jut out to each side of his faces, shaded in dark blue greens with electric magenta and red highlights. His face is mostly reds and pinks but the fur surrounding it is lit with teals and blues and black shadows. In different areas, it looks as though the fur is made of trees. The space behind his face looks like large curtain folds, but sections of it look like skin covered in a layer of fine hairs.

The shapes that make up the center of the bifurcated face look like arms, tongues, a sleeping feline, and wizened horned goat figures. From the middle of the beast man’s forehead and extending into the space above his head, a transparent ghostly hooded figure kneels on both knees with its legs slightly spread apart. The figure’s arms hang loosely at its sides. The hood splits at the figure’s neck, revealing what may be a caduceus. The hood looks as though it is made of pale transparent lace and appears to be part of a dress or cloak that extends down and over the figure’s legs. The lace hood and the figure are indistinguishable from each other at points. The top of the hood is an electric magenta with two dark blue stripes running through it and down from the left and right. The forest imagery of the beast man’s fur surrounds the clearing where the figure kneels.

Self Portrait: This Has Always Been Within Me.

#Art #Zombiebites #Dark #PsycheDelectusTenebrarum #PlutoinCapricorn #Photoshop

The image is a bust of a male figure with a beard wearing a dark collared shirt. The image is bifurcated into two faces, as though the figure were undergoing a mitosis. There is an eye resting in the middle that appears somewhat snake like or feline. It is common to both faces and appears less human that the others. In the more human eyes light reflects, obscuring the pupils.

Although there are no visible flames, the entire figure is the color of flames: oranges, yellows, and reds. The man's face is filled with concern, fear, and a level of sadness. The collar of the shirt he wears emanates yellow and orange light, like an object heated to its point of melting. His forehead is the same color.

There is a crown like shape resting on his forehead. It looks as though it is made of clenched teeth. It extends to the sides of the head and arcs up and out in semi circles like horns, becoming an alternating light and dark pattern. Above it, resting in inflamed pink flesh is another eye. It stares into the above, unconcerned. Further above that, four other eyes are squeezed together within the frame of the crown. They seem agitated with Terror, Anxiety, and Mania. Further above them, another set of eyes stare down at the viewer with a wide eyed intensity. At the top of the image a distorted mouth screams.

The background is filled with deep greens and dark greys. To the left and right, a series or obfuscated circles hover in the space between the figure and the background. One is a set of concentric circles, another set harbors a strange geometric drawing within it, the last is married with the curl of the horns of the crown and within it, two larger faint eyes stare out.

The Throne of the Mind

It gazes within and it gazes without,
It opens and swallows itself.
At the bottom of the ocean, at the bottom of the sea,
The nested flesh gestates.
