Yerp. I think I have played the modern PC Remaster of one or both. Can't recall. Never had them for the A1200, not my C64. Or, well, anything! 🤣

the A1200 shipped in 92 with a 14mhz EC020 and no fast ram. a 486dx2 cost the same and ran doom. meanwhile the board was still signing off 8088 clones. the 8088 was dead by 1988.

So college had a Amiga A1200 in the art department and in the music department, they had a Falcon 030 connected to a full studio mixer setup with the various MIDI instruments and all. I think they kept that setup music side until 2000s and then moved onto PC for that.

Yeah, I've used an Amiga A1200. Was in college while using DPaint for art. It's a nice machine, only had a 520STE (upgraded to 1mbyte, long tale of how I got to get that ram upgrade)
Really wanted a Falcon 030, couldn't afford it at the time but I was dumb with money so no saving up for one.

I think Commodore rushed out A1200 to compete with Falcon 020, using the 68020 processor. Falcon 030 and 040 was the better system overall, faster CPU's.

Wow, didn't know Atari Falcon had double the sound channels that an Amiga A1200 had.
8 stereo channels vs 4 for the Amiga.
I know A1200 beats on colour count aka 16.7m vs 65k on the Falcon.
Looks to be easier porting Megadrive games to Falcon than Amiga though.

What platform? Amiga? Everytime Youtube sends me a video of "Every Amiga Game made by X" I get a little bit closer to the disaster of preordering the Retrogames A1200.
