The CSM / SCM supports the Assoc of McGill Law Profs @apml-ampd.bsky.social, on strike since 24 April, & respects their right to organize, to bargain collectively, & to strike. To show solidarity, we have moved in-person events at our annual conference at Congress from McGill to Concordia & UQAM.

NGL today I heard a story of someone relapsing with AML after a couple of years remission and it terrified me. Im 5months off chemo and over a year of remission, Im usually positive about this stuff but...Im still scared. I had APML though so idk if that makes a difference. ;; n ;;

I am the Strike Captain for AMPL-AMPD @apml-ampd.bsky.social, the first certified faculty union at McGill University @mcgillu.bsky.social. AMPL-AMPD is currently on strike, as our attempts to negotiate a first collective agreement have been met with bad faith and reprisals from McGill.

Despite agreeing 3 months ago to a negotiation session with @apml-ampd.bsky.social today, McGill University reneged and failed to show up. Resolving issues through good faith negotiations supports long-term institutional stability & growth. #NoContractNoCourses

The Federation has threatened scholarly societies who wish to cancel or move events off the McGill campus with fines and sanctions. By contrast, @apml-ampd.bsky.social has been assisting scholarly societies who wish to change their conference venue to avoid crossing a colleague’s picket lines.
