l'édifice que j'appelle "grégorien" par commodité (mais dans lequel le XIXe a joué un rôle au moins aussi important). Ce qui revient à dé-placer le clergé (masculin ; même si on peut aussi évoquer la question des abbesses dans leur communauté, certes). Qui y est peu prêt.

Jusqu’au 21 novembre, pas moins de six spectacles vont se succéder dans le cadre d’un Focus qui lui est consacré.

So as a medievalist, this makes me squirm because when we try to talk about Women With Agency, we often end up talking about abbesses (from noble families), noblewomen, queens, basically people who inherited command by virtue of birth.

Well in the next post Noble lays out his evidence, one thing he notes is we have evidence of female abbesses up to the 12th century but by the time modern science is being born during the Enlightenment there's more sex-exclusion in the Church.
