Haley Stevens means nothing now but god that accent fascinates me. Like a midcentury school lunch lady. She grew up five miles from el-Sayed. Her mother doesn't have anything like that accent. She was years in DC. It makes no sense.

Question: the MMC in this book has an accent when he speaks English. In the audiobook, during the FMCs POV, we hear the accent. But when we switch over to his POV, there is no accent.
Would we say that it is an oversight? Or do we look at it as if people don't hear themselves having an accent?
