#acceptances
This South LA student slept in a parking lot. No roof over his head. Now he has 65 college acceptances, and he's heading to Columbia to study industrial engineering!

THIS is what happens when talent gets a fair shot. 🙌🏽

"rescind acceptances"

I am really laser focused on getting all my adult patients updated on their vaccines. A few vaccine doses I gave out in clinic today:
- pneumococcal vaccine
- Td booster
- Covid booster
- MMR

Does blinding--i.e., concealing applicants' identities--reduce gender gaps in academic conference paper acceptances?

Nope!

Does blinding do anything?

It does! Blinding reduces gaps in acceptances by institution rank.

if you're a PhD applicant with acceptances to programs in the US, you should ask your potential advisor what is happening at the university, in the department, or at least in their own heads in response to Mahmoud Khalil's abduction and deportation.

Those 42,894 acceptances were for 38,008 distinct pieces, so 4886 (11.4%) of those acceptances appear to have been reprints.
(someone asked an interesting but complicated question I'm trying to work toward that answer with some incremental queries)

Peer review is, believe me, imperfect.

But legal academia is distinctly—and unacceptably—vulnerable to crackpottery bc the editors who decide what counts as good scholarship are … 2Ls and 3Ls.

Most article acceptances have zero-point-zero faculty involvement. None.
So their strategy now is to create the illusion of some genuine controversy, which doesn’t exist. What exist are a tiny handful of obscure journal articles by D-tier academic crackpots having a little mutual admiration society for the legal equivalent of flat earth theory.
An entire "literature?"

LOL.

The absolute shame of all of this. Kneeling to a racist and bigot.

Columbia's sending out its acceptances to prospective students next week. I hope thousands of kids tell them hell no.
Columbia could be using its $14.8 billion endowment to endure Trump's dictatorship for 2-4 years, resisting for other, less fortunate schools. But no. It's buckling to fascism.
