What’s the point of a president swearing to uphold the Constitution if the Supreme Court grants them immunity for violating it through official acts?🇺🇸

He acts like he believes it
Ossoff is acting like Trump/MAGA/GOP and what they’ve done to the country is Actually Bad.

Charismatic and well spoken, which sure helps. But no “my friends across the aisle,” no acting like the imaginary “Baileys” are the only ones who matter, no “don’t talk values, only kitchen table.” That’s it.
Figuring out why Ossoff is so effective is an interesting task.

I think he's mastering a kind of stern dignity that is uniquely compelling in contrast to the clownish cruelty of the other side.

I think the other person who's kind of hit on the same thing is AOC, though in a different register

I'm not religious, but acts like this are sacrilege.
Majestic Trees that took hundreds of years to mature, being cut down in minutes by Turkey to the cheers of those destroying them
This is happening across the planet
They are cutting down the life force that keep us all alive
Turkey same country that is hosting climate summit

The fugitive slave acts were laws too
Mullin began the press conference by saying "We are enforcing this nation's laws. Why is it controversial? Why would that be controversial?" As if all of human history doesn't show that laws and their enforcement can be very controversial (e.g., the 1765 Stamp Act and its impact on U.S. history).
Markwayne Mullin: "No, we're not putting a pause on enforcement. I'm sorry, we're not. In fact, I'm not sorry ... we will not stop doing our job."

Will privacy still exist in the era of powerful AI?

Not unless Congress acts to protect it.

having a tiny dog and a giant puppy is super fun because your tiny dog acts like she doesn’t need her special stairs to get on the bed and your giant puppy acts like he’s too small to get on the bed himself

My oldest daughter, who is also an attorney, has said these things to me as well. When your life is built around the law, all of these blatant criminal acts must be even more frustrating.

Some of the escalations we're seeing, including the attack on Ilhan Omar's home (I will not pretend this act was "investigatory"), are desperate acts. But we must remember that desperate people can be very dangerous. A domestic abuse victim, for example, is in the most danger when trying to leave.

This is why you need to keep David Brooks busy with enrichment activities like marrying increasingly young women and changing religions. Otherwise he acts out by having and expressing opinions
"Jon Ossoff, my advice to him is, if you start calling your political opponents Nazis, maybe it's time to shut up. That's just not what we do here in this country." -- David Brooks, this evening. Remember, Brooks still gets very handsomely rewarded by the fossilized media for saying shit like this

That's why you hear so much whining from washed up comedians - they don't have the talent to update their acts with the times.

Whether Trump is a Russian asset or not, he acts like a Russian asset.
This is completely outrageous and disgusting. This must immediately be blocked by Congress and Trump should be impeached for this. The US is now funding Putin’s war machine as he murders civilians including children. We are lost as a country.

Please banish the phrase "raise[s] serious questions" from all further public communications about blatantly illegal acts from this fascist regime. And then DO SOMETHING.
