Nice paper Ben but it's hard to justify use of AUROC except when there is only one candidate model. AUROC should not be used to judge improvements in predictive discrimination. The width of a well-calibrated risk distribution is far better for that. #StatsSky #Statistics fharrell.com/post/addvalue

Now, National security risks in U.S. space infrastructure have been created as a result of Vast Space’s partnership with CCP-linked AddValue Technologies and the development of a part-time space station to replace the International Space Station. Jed McCaleb’s company Vast, which is headquartered in California, along with Vast’s Belgium born CEO Max Haot @maxhaot , are working with AddValue Technologies, a company in business with the Chinese Communist Party via contracts involving Chinese satellite communications and navigation systems. AddValue’s work with China directly benefits China's space strategy for domestic connectivity, along with China’s Belt and Road initiative, which seeks to help China have global dominance so China can become the number 1 world super power. The Belt and Road Initiative was incorporated into the constitution of the Chinese Communist Party in 2017. Jed and Max are working with unelected NASA bureaucrats to make sure our space station replacement is a tin-can called Haven-1 & Haven-2 next to China’s Tiangong space station. Tiangong (Heavenly Palace) is China's operational, permanently crewed space station in Low Earth Orbit (LEO). Low Earth Orbit (LEO) is the region of space where satellites orbit closest to Earth. It serves as a platform for scientific research and future deep-space mission technology development. Vast controls the Haven-1 space station, which it is developing as the world's first commercial space station. While Vast Space has only been around since 2021 and has never put any object into orbit, this startup maintains significant sway within NASA, a relationship they developed during the Biden Administration via Space Act Agreements (SAA), and now with NASA political appointee Ryan Whitley. Why would we want a part-time space station when China has a full-time space station?
