Westminster Abbey — the UK’s oldest door.

In 2005 dendrochronology showed the wood was felled after 1032 AD and that the door was constructed sometime in the 1050s

I would have to bend low to go through this door at St Petrock’s South Brent, Devon, and I’m only five foot tall.

The Saxon doorway from the south side of the tower of All Saints’ Church at Brixworth in Northamptonshire. Using recycled Roman tiles, the doorway was originally an internal door leading to a now demolished cell. 📸 My own. #AdoorableThursdsy #Brixworth #Northamptonshire

The 13th or 14th century doorway at St Mary’s Church, Berry Pomeroy, Devon at the foot of the rendered tower.

The church was rebuilt in the 15th century possibly by Sir Richard de Pomeroy, with later further restorations.

The head of the South doorway at All Hallows, Woolfardisworthy is Norman, the door may be 18th century.

I think I’ve got the spelling right this time!

We were in the area so passed by 13th century St Mary’s Fawsley, Northamptonshire earlier this week.

Dreadful weather so so not surprised the doors were closed. High on my must visit list — will return on a summers day.

Doors to the newly restored walled garden at Dartington Hall.@DartingtonTrust

Looking good! This is a brilliant project breathing new life into a little known area of the gardens.

I’m looking back on a brilliant research visit last year.

Doors set in red brick walls. Where was I?

St Petrock’s Church, Exeter, medieval origins, extensively altered over the last 400 years. Part of the church now houses a charity. The church stands between High Street and Cathedral Green. This door is on the Cathedral side.
