Framing of this article is “we should close the AI adoption gap by not judging women so harshly for using it.”

I submit an alternate proposal: Let’s judge *everyone* using genAI *much more* harshly and close the adoption gap by discouraging said adoption entirely across all genders.
Reviewers in two groups were given identical resumes for Emily Clarke and James Clarke and told they had used AI. Emily's was 2x as likely to raise doubts about competence. "She can't even write a CV herself." But James "just needed a bit of help."

I've been driving gas and diesel my whole life. I learned to work on them because I had to if I wanted one, shit ain't cheap. This is the adoption gap the EV faces: most motherfuckers in this country don't have the money for a new ass car.

Period.

Until wages and affordability goes way up. 🤷🚫💸

Anyway, my point is: All the "how to use ChatGPT" workshops in the world are not going to "fix" lagging AI adoption if the actual problem is that many people have deep ethical objections to AI.

Reporting from hour 7 in council chambers during day two of the city's budget adoption meeting. A lot of tweaks around the edges of Wilson's $8.6B spending plan. Big remaining question: How will councilors fill a self-inflicted $700k budget gap? TBD.

I went looking and wondering about the gap of issues between Tim's adoption and Damian showing up and the gap is: none

"Sorry you lost your Dad, your best friend and your on-off girlfriend, Tim, but at least you have a family that oh one of them tried to kill you." No wonder the boy's got probs

What makes MCP appealing is the adoption of existing technologies, including JSON-RPC, to close a feature gap, mainly the need to fetch external data and call other tools.

The ability to build extensions and integrations using existing technologies is the big win in my opinion.

I'm not sure why, but publications keep mistakenly claiming that the "learning gap" refers to "people and organizations not learning how to use these things," when it refers to thte models THEMSELVES being incapable of learning. The report is VERY CLEAR about this.

IMO this gap in confidence around critical thought is probably *driving* some adoption of AI technologies, on account of people who lack that self confidence feel like an AI assistant will help them compete with people who know they're smart.
"Specifically, higher confidence in GenAI is associated with less critical thinking, while higher self-confidence is associated with more critical thinking." -Microsoft Engineering from last April

Alternate theory for "why are women and older workers reluctant to adopt chatGPT?"

Well-founded and experience-based skepticism about job 'shortcuts'.

Maybe some awareness about the ethics involved.

Sony is doing a hard transition to digital only for new games in Jan 2028.

Nintendo is encouraging digital adoption by having a $10 price gap between the physical and digital editions of some games.

We asked console video game players how they thought this would change their purchasing behaviors:
From Circana's Q2 Future of Video Games Consumer Survey: 26% of US console players indicate they buy mostly physical games (when available) with 39% buying a balanced mix between physical and digital.

Were digital games priced $10 below their physical counterparts, 59% would buy more digital.

Heat pumps can help alleviate residential energy insecurity in the USA - Nature Energy
In the USA, households with heat pumps tend to cool their homes earlier, and this adoption helps narrow the income-based disparities in cooling usage. Heat pumps can help to alleviate residential energy insecurity and contribute to making energy more affordable and homes more comfortable, especially in the summer.
