“The situation is similar with Adyghe cheese”

While that is admittedly a problem, so is the meat glue

Interesting t-shirt: Адыгея (Adygea) refers to an autonomous republic located in the North Caucasus region of southwestern Russia. The name comes from the endonym of the indigenous Adyghe people (also known as the Circassians), who refer to themselves as Adyghe.

Was the Russian Empire acting as an empire or a nation-state when it engaged in the (at the very least) ethnic cleansing of the Adyghe/Circassians

Many of my characters are polyglots:
Arsen speaks French, Spanish, Norwegian, and Russian, knows a bit of Gaelic and Adyghe
Augustus is fluent in French, Italian, Russian, knows Norwegian, Gaelic and Adyghe.
Vinal will have polyglot talent, so he'll be able to speak a bit of all known languages
How many languages does your OC speak?

like under no circumstances should adyghe be using cyrillic they had to invent more letters than the base cyrillic alphabet has because it's such a bad fit

There is something satisfying about seeing person-number agreement markers that are transparently related to full pronouns in a language. E.g., Buryat (compared to no agreement in Middle Mongol), Batsbi (compared to no agreement in Chechen & Ingush), Abkhaz-Adyghe, Turkic, probably more such cases.

Here’s a video of my friend and teacher, who’s a native speaker, demonstrating the difference between /ʂ, ŝ, ŝᶲ, ŝʼ, ŝᶲʼ, ɕ ~ ʃ/ — the six sibilant fricatives that occur contrastively in her variety (Std. West Circ. = Std. “Adyghe” = Std. Temirgoy).

I fear culture and language grows when there is a space it can inhabit. Our space was removed by imperialism. We are a memory now. But one I hope can inspire others to resist. "Adyghe Wey Wey", a chant of strength and belonging
