Objectively good feature addition and I am not about to treat anyone complaining about this as serious when the maps become flying over everything once you get aethercurrents anyways.
Up until now, they've avoided a system that allowed players to automatically travel from quest giver to quest destination. However, newer games have implemented such features. If this feature helps certain players, they want to proceed. Auto-movement will be an optional feature.

Just an mmo moment, seeing as overworld isnt all too active beyond fates. Coulda only imagined how annoying it was when most of the areas were at way more aethercurrents needed than there is now.

Auto travel is something I'd objectively like, and this does mean they'll help the path finding and hunt mark placement to not automatically kill you? Amazing for replays and alts though.
But really, if Aethercurrents stay I probably won't use it.

I think my xiv to-do is to get all my aethercurrents, catch up with post-7.0, make a list of old unlocks I never got to, and make an excel sheet of gear drops I ignored b/c I couldn't wear them with the old system, and then... my level 70/80 crafters 😬

I don't really remember using them much as I am with Otho, but man I imagine they're going to be friggn' amazing when it comes to stormblood zones pre-aethercurrents

Tbh I feel like a WoL could fair decently well, given the sheer power of entities like Zodiark were able to keep planet wide aethercurrents in check, and Hydaelyn being capable of shattering one plane into many. And a WoL fights both of those with aid

they could NEVER make me hate collecting aethercurrents, was kind of sad when they removed the one in the lochs you had to go all the way east and then backtrack through the tunnel system LOL
