Are the Pali suttas included in the Kangyur?

In this new #AsktheTranslator, Dr. David Fiordalis responds to a reader from Turkey asking how the Pali Nikāyas, Chinese Āgamas, and Tibetan Kangyur relate to one another.

including Pali, Chinese, Tibetan, and Sanskrit.

David explains why the Chinese Āgamas correspond roughly to the Pali Nikāyas, why they were probably not translated from Pali, and how thirteen works translated from Pali into Tibetan became the last group to be added to the Kangyur.

If you're starting to feel like #Florida is auditioning to be the next setting for a Jurassic Park movie, you're not alone. We've got iguanas, pythons & tegus & now the Peter's rock agamas are moving in too. www.floridatoday.com/story/opinio...
Pythons aren't Florida's only problem. Giant tegus are here
As invasive reptiles spread farther north, Floridians face a troubling question: how worried should we be?

Lizard of the day: Common agama!
Agamas live in social groups including a lead male, about half a dozen females, and other subordinate males! Females, young members of the species and subordinate males have an olive green or brown body, while a dominant male has a blue body and orange head.

My property has become overrun with lizards. Anoles, agamas, curlytails... It's insane. It's like I have a herpetarium outside. I literally cannot look out the window in any direction without seeing at least one lizard.

It's AWESOME.

I'll end on the Peters's Rock Agama (Agama picticauda), this one was found in Florida, where pet agamas, released locally in 1976 are an invasive species devastating native insect species.

Also, they clash with the neighborhood aesthetic. Expect a nasty note from the HOA, Mr. Agama.
