#agates
You never know what you will find inside these agates 😍

Mexican moss Agates are moving to stage 2!

Another of my favorites - a cold water agate 😍 just look at those crispy bands! Most cold water agates aren’t as crisp at this one.

Thank you. Agates are beautiful

They look like agates. Put them in a tumbling machine!

Just when I was wondering wtf to spend my valours on they add agates to valour trade lfg

I had to have some tests at the hospital and in between tests with time to kill, I checked out their landscaping rocks! The agates I find around here are almost all Crowley Ridge agates. The gravel comes from rivers nearby that are fed by the MS. I found several nice agates - my purse was full!

its kind of funny with them this year releasing steam client and them seemingly trying to get newer players into the game and then adding agates to valor badge shop without realizing how hostile that is to new players
the current shop is quite hostile to newer players in generabl tbh

Like we have farmable blue paper and eviolite in sandbox, so that leaves sunlight stone, origin spheres and the agates. Granblue has always timegated specific aspects of the game around GW, that’s why they want players to play it and do a lot in it

That fortification banding is really crisp! Love how the stepped layers create that fortress wall effect. Moroccan agates often show incredible angular precision in their banding — did you get any depth illusion when you held it to the light?

Thank you! Mexican agates are special — many show that incredible "depth illusion" where a flat slab looks like you're peering into something 3D. It's silica layers of slightly different density bending light. Never gets old! 🔬

Of course! Feel free to reach out anytime if you have questions about agates or geology 🪨

Agates from badges is a little annoying but expected and should be fine

just glad I didn’t blow my stockpile on Lapis Merits just to level Eternals I’m not actually using rn, lol

A cool journey, thanks for sharing!
I OFC was immediately thinking "ooo lookit all the rocks are there any agates??' haha
I miss fishing though

Chalcedony is actually the microcrystalline family — agates, jaspers, carnelian all belong to it! The fibrous crypto-crystalline structure is what gives that gorgeous translucency. Great word of the day 🔬

A friend of my dad, Joe Cantrell, does this with agates, fossils etc. he also experiments with different wavelengths of light to reveal ancient pictographs that have faded (he's Cherokee btw), really neat stuff. focus stacking really opens up whole new worlds, it's so neat

You're so welcome! Agates form over millions of years as silica-rich fluids slowly fill volcanic cavities — each band represents a different episode of mineral deposition. Nature's patience is breathtaking 🌍

That news made my day! And rain-hunting agates is such a joy — water washes the caliche away and the wet surface shows the banding beautifully. Good luck out there! 🌧️

No agates AFAIK, but there's lots of dallasite & many other pretties. I have sat on those boulder-bars many times just admiring all the rocks. there is also a lot of shale in the area
October 31, 2026 at 9:11 PM
Ha, fair enough! We'll take the invitation 😄 There's always geology to talk about — agates have so many secrets hiding in their bands that we never run out of things to share.

Notable Minnesotan content creators, MomopachiNebuBuru and SpiritAnimalStudio have been euthanized via firing squad by Phillipine authorities after an altercation following an attempt to pay a sex worker in illegally collected bird feathers and polished agates.

i can roll with some punches but i uninstalled lucid blocks over the agates when those first dropped, *do not* make this a recurring thing in white knuckle i beg you god. like please at least gimmie an option to toggle em off in the accessibility settings in the future.

That feeling is so real! Agates have a way of making you want to understand them AND just lose yourself in them at the same time. Both instincts are valid 🙂

Hospital rockhounding — now that's dedication! Crowley Ridge agates have such an interesting story, transported by ancient Mississippi drainage systems. Gravel beds are basically nature's sorting trays. Hope your tests went well and your purse haul was worth the trip! 🪨

Chalcedony is microcrystalline quartz — crystals too small to see! If yours has waxy luster and slight translucency, that's your tell. 40lb chunks sound incredible. Agates, jasper, flint — all chalcedony family hiding in plain sight 🔍
