Let’s be very clear, Grassley is a mouthpiece for corporate agrifarming that have decimated the family farm.

It should not be allowed into the country. Unless our food standards were to drop as low as those of the USA, our farmers could never compete with the vast scale of US agrifarming .

Remember tomatoes of that era? Sun-ripened & delicious. Clean water, air & soil. Produce & livestock benefited.

Privatization gave us agrifarming.

Corporations swallowed up farms.

Result? GMO & a chemical company took over.

MONSANTO took over our food supply poisoning our air, water & soil.
In the 1970's before Water and Rail were privatised Water and Rail travel was much cheaper AND the water was cleaner AND more trains were on time.

Lough Neagh in the North of Ireland is the only freshwater lake in Europe. It's surrounded by agrifarming and industrial farming, including Moy Park, a giant, chicken processing operation. The lake is dying because it's full of shit but who cares because ££££££££.

But not able to feed at the same scale.

Big fossil-driven agrifarming is not sustainable but without it we'll lose a few billion people. Unless we could ramp up some of those newer Haber-Bosch methods (just ran across one that spits out vinegar as a plus).
