cus im making nearly all species in my glade at least partically/semi limbless. and the only reason rayman/thingamajigs/the limbless are "weird" are cus they are totally limbless. fully-limbedness is uncommon. nymphs, from left to right: tree. jetta's here honourarily, cus uhm technically she died like ages ago (per entry 13) so im not gonna have much reason to draw her its just "heres what reapina looked like in her old life" jetta stream the honourable mention nymph fr. everytime edith eats someone her hair gets bigger- Oh i was lining the nymphs and I was like "wow im almost done ive got all 6... wait one is the air nymph.... WHO AM I MISSING" Uh yeah i forgot to sketch Helena. x'3 i mean she is kinda forgettable. nothing abt her canon design is super... striking? everyone else has ~something~, like the corpses of large predators on their heads. shes just in non-functional sexy winterish clothes. and jetta's boring too but i had to make a conscious effort to include her butt. fish. i repeatedly switched between orange eyes and green eyes for Holly, because i kinda didnt wanna give her heterochromia. I settled on dual-tone eyes instead. To restate what i said in mini entry: reapina souls ive always interpreted her jewelry to be shrunken heads. with a bit of a struggle, i've made her earrings of teensie heads, and her necklace a thingamajig's. shes probably got a replica (or spare) or rayman's head somewhere, considering how many times he's died and been revived by her. As I have no reason to have voodoo mama the glob to not exist, she gets to exist simultaneously as Reapina. I will blabber about Reapina in a later entry cus shes important. thats it for now i think.

and Protoons like “bitch go take care of your fucking hatchlings like you were supposed to you stupid fuck” so Rayman sadly went back to go help raise and train the twins, who having only known Nayntac at first didn't know Rayman was their dad at all. so that was a surprise to the toddlers. Rayman’s always somewhat distant towards the twins, and they wouldn't understand why until some thousand years later. Nayntac always assumed the reason was due to their standing at the time of the twins laying, and that Rayman hadn't been able to work on his feelings, the emotions that clung to them in his mind, because of how he viewed Nayntac at that time. this was partially true, but was not the primary thing keeping Rayman from fully embracing the children Rayman, from the moment he looked in his children's eyes, knew what they were. He knew they were to be his replacements, that they as neither daydreams nor nightmares were to be the true Guardians of The Glade. that they would take his place. that he would soon take his true place, as the Guardian of The Cave of Bad Dreams, - as Betilla had originally intended centuries ago. Rayman taught them how to fight, and Nayntac taught them magic. Rayman encouraged Nayntac to teach them how to fight with magic , more powerful spells, believing they would need to know how to protect their people. Nayntac didn't really agree, and was initially confused why Rayman seemed so insistent on this, and Rayman claimed it was instructed by the Protoon. not like that made it make any more sense to Nayntac, but he was less inclined to ask questions. = The major difference between daydreams and nightmares in The Glade is their magical aura. The only visual difference is that nightmares will always have yellow in both eyes, and daydreams will never have yellow in the eyes. these two, as you might notice, have 1 eye with yellow and 1 w/o. thats bc they are the first ever dreams. they have weird fucked up aura. It's not like either Glade variety…

Uh raynette is here. i liked her teal, it seems to be a rarer colour in the glade so i emphasised it. the fanchild maker demons in my blood got to me & i just HAD to see if my internal colour math was mathing in the middle of colouring. I DID SO GOOD JUS WINGING IT. ive never done "reverse breedables" & doing that is WAY harder than designing normal breeding results & so id never done it, this is functionally my first time & i did so good yippee but im gon ramble see i told myself that i was gon let raymesis keep both of his parents And I made Raynette his mom because recycling characters, ya? now i hate raynette, she barely exists as a character at all but like... her vibes are schinky. i dont like her but this is my au i can do whatever i want right But at the end of the day she's still raynette, and her entire job in my au is just being gnarr's wife n mesis' mom. she still isn't a character shes like... a placeholder or something idk. so anyways the point is i think raymesis' mom has stinky vibes and i wasnt gonna break raymesis till later and i was gonna let him have both of his parents cus usually i kill a parent off before the story bc tbh usually i just can't be arsed to design them or give them a character.  and now im here plotting his moms murder lol uhm the main thing getting in the way of me actually killing Raynette just because I dont like her vibes is that in-universe killing glade critters is really hard. the best way to kill em are (in no order) Jano, Rayman, rabbids, robo pirates (ie, the 2 guys with the ability to destroy parts of the glade, and external forces). but all of those are gonna be really hard to enact w/o either making it a huge planet-wide problem (rabbids, pirates), or being weirdly specific. jano (currently) only has permission to kill ppl if rayman lets him, and rayman would likely never have a good enough reason to send some random woman to her permanent death X'D.

i find Lac-Mac's canon design/model actually creepy as fuck even tho they're like, completely passive. the rayman community should be glad it currently lacks a notable horror sub-section because Lac-Mac would be their mascot i just know it i know how this shit happens lmao. Anyways, i remembered Lac-Mac exists and once again had the problem of "i am ok with Lac-Mac being in my au, but how do i fit them in? what are they?" because i dont really like there being too many one-off species, and i also dont like having to make those one-offs into species by making more. its tedious. now, Lac-Mac has earth-animal-like traits. this is shared with imps in my AU, but Lac-Mac isnt an imp, because they're too animal-y. too furry bastard, not elf-y enough to be a pure imp. so they're a hybrid of some kind, right? but with what? and then i doubled checked their design. they're digitigrade. and the only other glade species i know of thats digitigrade are the knaaren. so here is my Lac-Mac design for Aileirtsa, as a daydream imp-knaaren hybrid.

in my AU, theres some groups of mainland fuckers who dont believe that the Mr.Dark crap from RM1 happened. like no one is capable/strong enough to manipulate The Great Protoon successfully. the people who live on Ting Island (what ive named the location of RM1) know very well that shit happened. however, at the point in which Rayman, Simohne, and Nayntac are married with kids, Nayntac's been in such deep hiding after quitting being evil for a living that 1) no one really knows who is he, other than Rayman and Simohne's spouse and 2) almost no one knows that he was Mr.Dark. a few do, like Globox, Ly, Murphy, and Murfy. the kids do not know. Tohyin has no fucking idea, and thus when finding his father's old stuff puts it on to be funny. Why do the kids not know? Mostly because their parents are worried about scaring them, in spite of the fact that said kids are like the mainlanders and don't entirely believe the stories of Mr.Dark in the first place. why didnt Nayntac just get rid of it? mostly to keep around for (very extreme/rare) emergencies cus its like unique lvl99 enchanted expert magician gear. so it has use cases, and is hard to replace adequately.

ive already tweaked the lines a lil by the time of me posting this (some shading, fixed nose shape, nails, etc) im probably gonna upload this not as a "true" ref sheet, since this outfit is 200% too complex to draw again unless desperate/need a really fancy pic of him doing magician stuff post-redemption. which he does do im just not drawing it this, iirc, is more of a "day to day" working outfit, rather than his big heavy ridiculous blue cloak, which is only for like... extreme emergencies. where he needs all that extra magical defence and offence.

this is also a minor... no... major semi-retcon?? its a hot mess. brain allowed me to draw out some scenes for once. not completely accurate but it gets the idea across. still need to sort the timeline out a bit. heavily praphrased becase i cannot be arsed to write proper dialogue. to clarify that first scene, its been changed a lil from how it was descriped in Entry 9: Mr Dark but this is that scene where rayman make mr dark aware that he and all people of The Glade are actually small parts of a very large parasite. rayman was deeply nonplussed about this reveal that he has to go marry/have kids with his now ex-nemesis. and also because (and this is the semi-retcon part) he knows what the twins are and what they will mean for The Glade and himself. well he doesnt *know* know, but he has a gut feeling that is confirmed once his eggs hatch. nayntac(mr dark) has not a fucking clue that the kids are *that* important to their whole world. the reason these twins are only a *semi* retcon is because at this point in the timeline, originally this first clutch of eggs rayman has were going to be 5 eggs he has with both nayntac and simohne, and those still happen but they happen later down the line rather than "now". the twins are now the first clutch and are just between rayman and nayntac. hopfully i will be able to finish the ref sheets for not just theeeeee twins but also the... quintuplets. hopfully. and also be able to explain the fucking Keys i think ive mentioned or eluded to like 3 times now??? because if you read Entry 13: you would have heard abt rayman's real job. yeah the Keys and the Twins are connected to that bullshit. mspaint!simohne is here too put em all in dresses (or, just wedding "clothes"/"outfits" per in-universe phrasing) cus 13+(?) sexes = whats a gender norm. STILL need to finish the fucking wheel of sexes fr. i love looking at giant stupid overcomplicated diagrams but i also hate making them. aksdhlasjdasiji *dies*

God im so happy with my Ray-Gnarr design. 10/10 jiggy right there.
Gris (Shadow Ray). Nightmare Thingamajig is mute (unknown(artist doesn't have a)reason) has board to write on to ppl. very fast writer/"talker". Glombrox (Nightmare Glob) (being boring, calling these things globs) he and Gris are friends that live together. Glombrox is one for the extremely few globs that live on Ting Island. Mirayge is currently looking into why Glombrox is not being "blessed" by The Great Protoon. these two bitches have the same* magic system (complete bullshit- i mean Gold Dust aka Magick)(*they are sliiightly different but shhh) Dark Globox (need name) Both are nightmare globs, but only one is an asshole Ray-Gnarr. Daydream Thingamajig. Raymesis' dad. 'Mesis is super embarresed about his relationship with his dad and tribe for 2 main reasons. No. 1 is that Raymesis left his tribe as soon as he was an adult to explore but mostly to get "revenge" on Rayman for, to his belief, making the rest of The Glade disrepect/fear Thingamajigs. Only to find out that that was Betilla's doing (even if by mistake/poor managing of Man's public image), and that he harrassing one of his own kind for no good reason. Rayman doesn't hold this against Raymesis, as he understands the young Thingie's feelings. Rayman is still looking for a way to fix Betilla's damage, but honestly would rather hide away with the rest of his species. and No. 2 is that this goofball of a guy is his dad. This is made worse by the fact that Gnarr is actually very proud that he raised his child to be so couragous and strong as to go out and do what he did. most thingies are normal civillians & live either on Ting Island, or are part of Ray-Gnarr's (currently unnamed) tribe. There are a few stragglers w/ the Knaaren or in the  Snoring Tree. bonus notes: - Glombrox is covered in quills/spines - Gris’ design in this image is wrong - Ive completely given up with RM1 magician’s name its just Mirayge (mirage) now. I give up, i give up.
