Yeah, those wee aircooled engines are easy to hoist and work on. I have more fun at 3mph on class VI roads than any fast car can have legally on a highway.

Completely unforgiving in hot weather, on hills or slopes, or at long stoplights. Also, the most fun I ever had driving a car.

And we haven't even gotten into the fact it's not a sideways aircooled v twin and shadt drive. But rather a liquid cooled parallel twin (Aprillia motor) and chain drive.

Im at 35k miles, and it is aircooled, without the optional oil cooler. It is 80 hiway miles round trip to get to the state forest. I ride it At 70 mph, so its been rode pretty hard for a 350cc. It doens't owe me anything for the $1500 I paid 🤷♂️

European cars on the other hand, you have to get into different mindsets depending on what you're working on. Aircooled Volkswagens are their own thing. A general mechanic can do basic maintenance but you need to eat sleep drink and breathe VWs to truly understand and once that happens your addicted

In fairness it’s an aircooled vintage VW so it’s not like it’s tricky or anything, but you are gonna get your hands dirty and it will smell like gasoline

Ooo very nice! I forgot they didn't have a four speed for that era tho, it's been a hot minute since I've studied old aircooled stuff.
And that addresses my biggest gripe with EVs of them not having any gears despite there being studies and scenarios where having at least two speeds helps them.
