Indeed - the related Il-78 tanker aircraft are also very attractive targets. Moreover, Aviastar is a maintenance facility for heavy An-124 airlifters.

Just to elaborate why they're a big deal:
Europe has plenty of good transporters like C-130s & A400s. They do real work.
But only these strategic heavy airlifters can physically carry tracked armour and large equipment (tanks, artillery, engineering vehicles, air defences etc) without disassembly.
