The thing with C/aius is I totally get pairing him with L/ightning comes bc you have the eternal battle thing the pink and purple colouring and the knight v dragon foils but him functionally being "guy who won't leave the premises the reason she can't clock out" kills it dead for me

re lucimeric i like how they set up their relationship as a funhouse mirror version of livia being in love with g/aius and show that lucia as her sister is similarly inclined to very single-minded devotion but that that doesn't have to be a bad thing when the other person is not the fucking worst

After more research and consideration she went from geiko to maiko instead of a merchant to better fit her personality. The means of getting to Eorzea went from meeting a young z/enos in Kugane (stupid) or G/aius (extra stupid) and her assassination attempt is now on a centurion and not a legatus

BATHS OF DIOCLETIAN Dis Manibus. / C(aius) Iulius Hermes / vix(it) ann(is) XXXIIII m(ensibus) V dieb(us) XIIII / C(aius) Iulius Andronicus / conlibertus fec(it) / bene merenti de se This beautiful marble urn is richly carved with an ædicule at lower centre containing a married couple holding each other's right hands, the husband at left, his wife at right. They are flanked by two spiral columns supporting a pierced pediment. At the two front edges are two pilasters decorated with an unusual leaf pattern with Ionic capitals connected by a garland of carved fruit. The inscription commemorates two freedmen: C. Iulius Hermes, the deceased, made at the behest of his fellow, Andronicus. As a pre-made urn, it seems a strange choice for one man to buy for another. Yet the catalogue of this museum doesn't even consider that these two were a couple, which was my first thought.

This inscription once fronted a base with three statues on it, two sons, Hadrianus and Sabinianus, of the Dissenii family on either side of their father Fuscus. The town of Bovillæ dedicated a statue to Fuscus, and he in his turn dedicated the others to his sons. The reference to the people of Bovillæ as "Alba Longani" derives from the tradition that the town's inhabitants came from the destroyed city of Alba Longa. This was a town where Aeneas was said to have ruled, and his son Iulus (Ascanius), and hence some of the town's refugees went to Bovillæ, including the descendants of Iulus, the gens Julia, from whom the Colonna family claimed descent.

This Roman statue was recently uncovered in Bulgaria outside the ancient city of Odessos. A Greek engraving on the plinth names “G[aius] Marius Hermogenes.” He wear a toga & holds a scroll, which are both symbols of Roman authority
