Been a while since I've done straight speculative evolution 2 groups from Rathis info in alt #speculativeevolution #alienspecies #scifiart #alienecosystems
the Genius Mastimorphia (true Fan dancers) a group of secondarily flightless primarily filter feeding insects. their antennae have evolved to be highly flexible and covered in hairs to trap pollen and spores, they drag them through fleshy mouth parts to clean off anything trapped inside. the Greater Fan dancer (Masticora Venderi) used to be included in this genius but was given it's own Genius when it was found to be a case convergent evolution and they're actually closer to Grapple flies. Hanuweria ( little warriors) named after the Riti God of war Hanuwa these small bottom dwelling primarily freshwater fish are known for being highly territorial and will attack intruders many times their size to defend their territory. they are equally aggressive out of the water and have been documented charging fisherman using their pectoral fins as feet. they have 2 small toxic spines hidden in their gills and its described as "red hot" when they sting someone. most anglers understandably avoid them.
