Someone said Iradne sounded like an Altmer name and that made me think of a pretty clever idea to avoid the whole Skyrim civil war question. What if this Sentinel takes place in an alternate timeline where the AD won over Hammerfell? The whole game is you setting things back to the "right" timeline.

'flip the script' just means you're deliberately moving away from the one-note comic villain portrayal of the the Altmer in TES5

?? no. you portray a more complete picture of the Altmer society. I imagine there is some sort of Rebel Alliance-coded underbelly which the player allies with

tbh the thing that I keep coming back to is that the altmer supremacist death cult *has* been successfully destroying the towers in every entry

Oh, gotcha. Sorry I just assumed based on the "flip the script thing..."
Yeah I had a similar idea. The Thalmor should be a kind of weak and decaying regime filled with opportunists and cynics that increasingly has lost credibility with regular Altmer, as movements rise to challenge them.

Well I don't think that's fair. There are plenty of non-villainous Altmer in TES you just come into contact with their fascistic government as well. Basically every Altmer not a part of the Thalmor in Skyrim is at least decent, right?

Ironically considering who usually complains about new TES lore, Kirkbride is the one with the least sympathetic version of the Altmer.

I keep finding preliminary sketches for a commission that I had to refund due to my worsening health last year and it still haunts me because Cassius Altmer boy is utterly gorgeous and I wanted to paint him sooo badly

It sounds more like a breton name to me honestly but we also gotta remember this is Sentinel, which is a stone's throw from Ur-Tower that is controlled by the Direnni family so even if Iradne is an Altmer name it'd most likely be tied to the Direnni.

おやじについては私もはじめはaltmerのキャラを自分で作ると思っておらず、どうしてこうなったか覚えていませんが、今では愛着のあるキャラクターのひとりです。RPはおもしろいですね！😋
