there is not a state on the planet that does any sort of foreign aid for solely altruistic reasons lol
USAID absolutely did loads of good stuff but it is also true that the US government was not doing those things altruistically. I don’t think it’s contradictory to say that and it’s incredibly disingenuous (of the OP) to present leftist critique of USAID in general as celebrating those deaths
