What I find sort of funny about this? The real fighters —the ones who get the rest of them home —they often aren’t the big, aggressive, angry tough guys. It’s guys like Audie Murphy (small guy), or Alvin York (pacifist who did the killing despite that) who often win the day.

Brian Murphy was born on 25 September 1932 and passed away on 2 February 2025 at the age of 92. He was an actor and comedian. He was best known as the henpecked husband George Roper in the popular sitcom Man About the House and its spin-off series George and Mildred. He also played Alvin Smedley in Last of the Summer Wine. Other notable roles include Stan the shopkeeper in the children's series Wizadora, and Maurice in the comedy drama series The Booze Cruise. Other notable television appearances include The Avengers, Z-Cars, Callan, Dixon of Dock Green, The Incredible Mr. Tanner, L for Lester, Lame Ducks, The Bill, Pond Life, One Foot in the Grave, Brookside, Hustle, The Catherine Tate Show, This is Jinsy, Benidorm, The Cafe, Man Down, Probation Officer, The Plane Makers, Sez Les, Alcock and Gander, South Riding, All in Good Faith, Boon, Mike and Angelo, Jonathan Creek, Mrs Merton and Malcolm, Plebs, Holby City and Casualty.
