okay well now that there's an alternate translation i can talk about this

AHEM. so the lyric in quotes is タ...スケテクレナイ (ta...suketekurenai). it's in all katakana so it's intentionally vague. it has two possible meanings

proverb: 馬鹿と煙は高いところへ上る
meaning: just as smoke is easily carried upwards by the wind, idiots are easily fueled by (empty) flattery
translation that uses allusion to familiar english phrasing: idiots, like balloons, are carried aloft by hot air

i don't think i posted this on here but... i cranked out a tl for a wanopo song about a year ago

it doesn't exactly take *much* to get your translation up here, but it does involve quite a bit of speed, which i'm still proud of

i was fine with just leaving the makeup and theatre line as is but changing it made it flow better with the latter scheme even though its rhyme is meant to match the former scheme
