Very Happy Professional News To Share:

My firm announced today (at our office holiday party) that I have been promoted to partner. I am extremely proud of this achievement and very happy to be working with such an incredible group of professionals.

There is a good life outside of the AmLaw100.

[sarcasm alert]
That feeling when you hung out a shingle with a couple of attorneys and no longer have unlimited associates and paralegals of an AmLaw100 firm to do the busy work of finding the right Jeremy Rosenberg.

The failure of the AmLaw100 to stand together, but rather (according to Brad Karp) aggressively marketing the clients of firms under attack, says everything that needs to be said about guild vs. “soulless business”.

They will likely hang separately.

Once again, I rewatched Michael Clayton. As a former prosecutor who knocked around for decades at AmLaw100 firms without making equity partner, it remains my favorite movie.

I’m really happy to have directed my career in a new direction.

Sydney Pollack was perfect.

FPOTUS has now attacked George Clooney for never making any good movies.

For my money (as a New York lawyer who spent most of my career in AmLaw100 firms dealing with criminal and civil litigation), Michael Clayton is an ALL-TIME great movie and a GREAT performance.

No political takes, please.

As a woman equity partner in the litigation department of an AmLaw100 firm, my answer to this question would be "My husband decided to be the stay-at-home parent and now that the kids are grown he is my kept man."

Based on my 30+ years as a litigator in NYC, I am confident that every single allegation that Donald Trump makes against the Paul Weiss firm is false. I believe that Trump’s allegations are made in bad faith, designed to intimidate AmLaw100 firms from taking action during his second term.

By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, it is hereby ordered:

She can leave her employment at an AmLaw100 firm and take a lower paying job at a boutique run by a former AUSA who will (a) give her more meaningful work and (b) regale her with stories about ponies and Prenda Law.

Will Chamberlain was never a “member” of Quinn Emmanuel. He was briefly (7 months) an associate. It is hard to get asked to “move on” that quickly at an AmLaw100 firm. Maybe he chose to leave voluntarily. Maybe QE figured out that he was too stupid to keep on the payroll as a billing unit.

Only yesterday, it was reported that Skadden is negotiating with Trump to avoid being the subject of their own Executive Order. Many AmLaw100 firms have declined to represent the firms that are the subjects of these orders.

I am confident that Mr. Blanche (a professional acquaintance) has burned his bridges to AmLaw100 firms.

It isn't about the result, but the process. He left a big firm to strike out on his own and then had no control over the client.

Most criminal defense lawyers lose most cases, but not this way.

When I was with an AmLaw100 firm, I did not post anything controversial on social media. Part of the reason for my move to a small firm is that I get to express myself relatively freely. Obviously, I'm never going to reveal client confidences or attack a client's position.

Many federal judges have left the bench because the salary ($232k) is literally 10% of what they could make as an equity partner at an AmLaw100 firm. If a federal judge has to pay private university tuition for more than one child, it is extremely difficult to afford it on that salary without loans.

The use of stilted language and extensive quotes from not-on-point cases reminds me of many pro se filings that I have read.
Rudy Giuliani was once (a) the US Attorney for the SDNY and (b) a name partner for an AmLaw100 firm (Bracewell Giuliani).

He is now a clown represented by a clown.

One of my early bosses at an AmLaw100 firm would frequently say: "Rich clients treat lawyers like toilet seat covers. We're there to prevent the s*@t from splashing back on them."

In addition to laying out allegations of harm to ABA members, the complaint also lays out the harm to the ABA itself.

I, an equity Partner at an AmLaw100 law firm work with an attorney ten years older than I who edits in red ink. And then, on the weekend, asks me to put his revisions in.

LOL, no.

Considering I'm a lawyer has a pretty nice life and had to look up what AmLaw100 was, I'd agree!

Congrats either way. We don't have to work ourselves to death for money we'll never spend.

🚨 Since 2017, I’ve been hunted. Lawyers have terrorized me for my sexuality - kicking me from job to job, denying me benefits, and ruining my name. I was even assaulted twice with injuries reflecting harassment. Authorities do nothing. 🚨 #Justice #AmLaw100 #Whistleblower

I began my career at an AmLaw100 firm. Decent enough outfit, but those AmLaw50 fuckers…I’ll never be shocked by their craven and unprincipled pursuit of cash (and the number of FedSoc and FedSoc-sympathizing soulless wraiths in firm leadership).

Might start by taking a look at AmLaw100 and where the chairperson / power base is located....

So pleased that this menopausal suburban white woman who is an equity partner in an AmLaw100 firm can now be the monster under the bed for Dem leadership.

One of my workspaces today is this law library left behind by an AmLaw100 firm when they moved from the downtown #Chicago financial district to new offices. Other views delaying email replies include Lake Michigan and the Ceres statute atop the Chicago Board of Trade building. #LibrarySky

I worked at TWO AmLaw100 firms. Davis Wright Tremaine signed. Paul Hastings didn’t. Paul Hastings also worked me into exhaustion, landing in the hospital, twice when I was 8 months pregnant and my boss there (an employment law partner) laughed a doctor’s note saying I could only work 40 hrs/week. 🤮

Not going to be a great thing for juniors outside big law though - AmLaw100 firms can absorb that, a twenty person firm not so much so.
