(also claude code has the necessary tools to largely replace ampcode, but you have to build them, but building them means you understand them and can leverage them better, so)

GUI that's mobile friendly, "Portals" to the app, easy way to switch thread. I use opencode the most because the gui is good, I don't mind collie + herdr and like that it decomposes harness from mobile even the its gui is not good, and ampcode has puck and portals which is pretty nice.

Ultimately I think this has vindicated the AmpCode model ensemble approach. The much harder part becomes actually taking advantage of that in day to day, and I’m not really enthused to pay more subs

Switched claude code from pay-as-you-go API pricing to a Claude Pro plan. Surprised how much more I use it now that the total monthly cost is fixed (even though it's not necessarily cheaper).

Today I threw a weird request at AmpCode: generate a module hierarchy for my library... in draw[io]... because why make it easy :D
I was fully expecting it to botch it. Aaaaad, it effin aced it. 🤪 There are some tweaks needed here and there, but damn.

Speaking of WorkOS, there's likely some cleanup needed, but it took roughly 1 hour of non-focused time and about $20 in @AmpCode credits to complete the task.
For a basic app like this, that's an absolute bargain if you value your time.

lol using Ampcode after spending the last seven months using Claude Code is insane. What do you mean the CLI is a clean interface that’s not constantly breaking? What do you mean there’s not a thousand things going on at once? What do you mean you’ve carefully chosen the models to use?

substantially, IME. I don't know what they do but they manage to make it way less effective. I think the vscode/copilot tooling is worse at exposing information to the model than other options (cursor, ampcode, claude code), plus their UI really doesn't encourage you to review the code closely
