I am really chomping on the bit for the Between Sun and Shadow ancestries for draw steel to release.

#Pathfinder2e Feybound is awesome and has a lot of great monsters, cool new ancestries, interesting lore, and fun items. But I feel I gave my hopes up with the mention of the transformation spells.

"Although previous studies have documented an influx of these more southern ancestries continuity of the local Scandinavian ancestry has generally been assumed."

Currently in Draw Steel, I let the players have carte blanche on the ancestry for their followers. Everyone chose ancestries from the book, except one, who selected a doozer.

I love it and now doozers are a part of my setting.

The bestial ancestries continued to evolve into the Ancestries seen today, there was once a single ancestry standing below the midsection of most being a people who scoured the land embracing nature.

Ancestries in #Starfinder2e have so many interesting unarmed attack feats. My favorite is easily hologram's Hardlight Weapon. A shame almost all class features and spells only work with weapons. Even the DPS++ technomancer can't buff Hardlight Weapons.

The label is intended to pit rural residents against city residents, white against black, non-college vs college, and European peasantry ancestries against everyone else.

Was Alzheimer's genetic risk underestimated? Nearly threefold 🧬

127 loci (48 new), SNP heritability 16%, and risk converging on microglia and neurons. Congrats to Uffelmann, Posthuma and the PGC-ALZ team in Nature 👇🏻

It’s beyond silly. I remember reading 1930s Dutch Nazi newsletters trying to invent distinct ancestries for each province. Meanwhile in the real world nobody really knows or cares whether the Celts of the Maas valley were displaced or merely conquered by the Franks of the Rhine valley, &c
November 3, 2026 at 7:23 PM
…groups with different ancestries living side by side but not having children with one another very often. This is something that could have happened and there is some evidence for it in prehistory but my experience is that when people argue for there being an unsampled population…

ah yes. thank you. I get my celtic-balkan ancestries confused sometimes.

"...with small proportions of ancestries that prior to 1575 BP were primarily found south of Scandinavia: Eastern North Sea ancestry, Celtic ancestry from Britain, Ireland and France, Slavic-related ancestry from northeastern Europe and European Farming ancestry from western Europe."

Greek Ancestry: 424,750 people (1.7% of the total Australian population, based on the prior census baseline).

Italian Ancestry: Over 1,108,000 people in Australia identify as having Italian heritage (making up roughly 4.4% of the total Australian population).

Not to mention the other ancestries.

I just thought that’s an interesting wrinkle in a world with fantasy ancestries that have wildly varying average lives

"By contrast, later individuals associated with the East Germanic-speaking groups, the Ukrainian Ostrogoths & the Iberian Visigoths, are modelled with local ancestries..."

The whole idea of trying to trace "lineages" back into the distant past is all a rather silly and meaningless idea anyway given the tendency for ancestries to become increasingly universal and indistinct the further you go back.
So you’re related to Charlemagne? You and every other living European…
The advent of cheap genetic sequencing has given birth to a burgeoning ancestry industry. But before you pay to spit in a tube, let me give you a few facts for free

It's sort of a weird place right now. 5E had finally filled out the roster pretty thoroughly (kobolds and goblins both, even updated) and my understanding is that all older ancestries are considered playable in 5.5 until they are replaced by a new version

Using data from 500,000 sibling pairs across diverse ancestries, a study in Nature Human Behaviour estimates how genetics contribute to behavioural traits and diseases within families. go.nature.com/4iO7BjI 🧬🧪

And the cost for something like this, that would have huge importance to, say, a demographic where official records are extremely scattershot and could be critical in helping to trace their ancestries, would be MINUSCULE.

Day 1 - Origin (continued)

Alternatively, here are early concepts for Amnian ancestries from when I was holding myself more to scientific understanding of taxonomy/naming conventions before going 🤷 as long as I'm drawing low fantasy critters that's all I want<3 (2020)

Single-cell eQTL effects can look cell-specific when power, activation state or composition differs. Replication across donors and ancestries, pseudobulk-versus-cell models, allele-specific expression and stimulation experiments would help distinguish context dependence from sparsity and structure.
