One thing I’ve learned by reading so much slop against my will: AI can’t be funny. At all. It can do passing approximations of the typical tones you see in literary fiction, thrillers, horror, & a few others, but funny? Never, not at all.
Anyone who makes comedy knows that most of the information you are transmitting in any piece of work is hidden intent, subtext and motive.
Computers and LLMs cannot have those things. You can put them in yourself, read what was absent. But you get annoyed when you realise there was nothing there.
