Dinosaur blood? Could Jurassic Park finally happen?

Well, no.

So what happened was researchers were looking at the hind leg bones of Aratasaurus, a small theropod that lived in the Early Cretaceous of what is now Brazil.

And they believe they found the structures of red blood cells.

Aratasaurus Died Around Age 4. Its Leg Bone May Still Hold Red Blood Cells
Researchers report traces of heme inside what look like red blood cells in an Aratasaurus leg bone from Brazil, though some outside experts aren't convinced.

"The evidence exists inside the fossilized limb bones of a juvenile Aratasaurus museunacionali."

"Museunacionali"? Aratasaurus National Museum??? You really can put anything in a species specifier. Someone should start using emoji, I'm sure all the catalog databases are unicode ready.

Just googled aratasaurus and it seems fairly small, I fancy my chances

Red blood cells have been found in a 115-million-year-old theropod dinosaur from Brazil. The researchers also identified heme B—a key molecule in blood. Manganese mineral stabilization of the red blood cells likely helped preserve the heme. In PNAS: https://ow.ly/ksYJ5104eFk

hey i know there's lots of election news but also in other news researchers have found intact biomoloecules and mineralized red blood cells inside the 115-million-year-old fossilized bones of a juvenile Aratasaurus museunacionali from Brazil

bom dia they they found dinosaur blood

Electron microscope images of the dinosaur bones revealed small, round structures that resemble red blood cells in fine channels where blood vessels once ran, while chemical tests identified the presence of heme, the organic compound that allows haemoglobin in blood to carry oxygen around the body.
