found this old thing from 2016 when I was trying to do a tarot card for Aravel and you know, it's not great composition but I still love his face in it #edibleart | #aravellavellan
unfinished digital art of my canon Inquisitor, Aravel Lavellan, with a dark blue background. His head is surrounded by a light yellow circle, a greatsword in his right hand and the left held up with forefinger and thumb touching. His hair is wild and he looks very angry. Something looking like a feathered wing curls around his neck.

Aravel is demisexual. He had one major relationship in his life prior to the Conclave, and the emotional connection with Dorian was just as important to him as the physical one. #aravellavellan
Screenshot of Aravel Lavellan on the ramparts at Skyhold. He is a male elf with medium brown skin, brown eyes, red-brown hair parted to the left, and Ghilan'nain's vallaslin in white.

the face that Dorian fell in love with all those years ago... #aravellavellan
Screenshot from Dragon Age: Inquisition. Aravel, a male elf with medium brown skin, long straight reddish-brown hair, brown eyes, and Ghilan'nain's vallaslin in white, stands on the parapets of Skyhold, overlooking the distant bailey gate and the white-capped mountains beyond. He's wearing an outfit of brown leather with silver buckles and a brown scarf around his neck.

also I can't wait to get back to the Shadow Dragons hideout so he can do this near Dorian #aravellavellan
Aravel, wearing a mod outfit with no shirt, loose white pants, and gold jewelry on his arms, leaning casually on a wall in his room.

ok I managed to get it running and I started Aravel's save because I wanted to try the antlers and??? YES???? (bonus aesthetic shot of him feeling dwarfed in Arlathan) #aravellavellan
Aravel Lavellan in Veilguard, wearing gold armor and with the halla horn mod: flowering halla horns growing out of his head. Aravel, very small in the foreground, looking out over the misty ruins of Arlathan city, with the tall statues of archers prominent above the smaller buildings.

missing them today. they're in love and always will be #aravellavellan | #dorianpavus
Screenshot from Dragon age: Inquisition of Dorian Pavus kissing Aravel Lavellan. Aravel is a male elf with brown skin, reddish-brown hair shaved on the left and parted to the right, and Ghilan'nain's vallaslin in white. The kiss is from a slightly different angle than usual.

Aravel and Dorian were finally in the same room together again, and the tension was palpable.

(I think I finally figured out what's really bothering me with Aravel, which is that he looks so young. Like, way too young. It feels weird.) #aravellavellan
Aravel Lavellan, a male elf with long reddish-brown hair, wearing plate armor, facing Dorian Pavus in a side room of the Shadow Dragons' hideout. A shirtless Aravel in the Lighthouse's courtyard, with ivy climbing up a wall in the background.

took a page out of Loustica's book and painted Aravel's white vallaslin on a VG screenshot of him and FINALLY he looks right... #aravellavellan
Screenshot of Aravel Lavellan remade in Veilguard. He's an elf with medium brown skin, long, straight reddish-brown hair, and brown eyes. He has Ghilan'nain's vallaslin in white on his forehead and chin; it shows prominently because it's been painted in with CSP. He stands against a background of climbing ivy.

Finally got a decent shot of this warrior takedown moment and I'm so pleased. The fury descends. #AravelLavellan
Aravel Lavellan taking down an enemy. He's leaping into the air, sword and shield held high, hair flying at the apex of the jump. The background is the courtyard of the Temple of Andraste, with a cloudy Minrathous sky overhead.

Now that I've tweaked Aravel's appearance to my satisfaction in Veilguard, I admit I might be having a bit too much fun playing him. This is the hair I would have given him in Inquisition if I could have. #aravellavellan | #dragonage
Screenshot of a male elf with medium brown skin and long, straight reddish brown hair. He is seen in profile, wearing the Shadow Dragon casual outfit, standing in the dim light of the early-game Lighthouse. In the Crossroads, Aravel is wearing one of the Mass Effect-styled armors and a round shield on his back, looking to his right. The contrast and saturation have been bumped up.

In today's news, Aravel remains very pretty in VG. #aravellavellan
Aravel Lavellan, a male elf with medium brown skin, reddish-brown hair in a long mohawk cut parted to the right, and dark brown eyes. He wears the Jumper's Deft Leathers. He's looking up at a large threatening presence offscreen.

For Dragon Age, at least, it has to be him.

#aravellavellan
Aravel Lavellan stares straight into the camera. He is a male elf with medium brown, lightly freckled skin, reddish-brown hair parted on the left with a little of the side shaved, brown eyes, and Ghilan'nain's vallaslin in white. He's standing in the garden at Skyhold, wearing a brown leather coat and red bandana. Aravel looking to the side in the dream version of Haven. A prfile of Aravel at night in cold veilfire light. Digital art by me of Aravel older, with his hair more grown out and several silver streaks in it. He wears a green shirt with a v-neck, bordered by a braided leaf pattern.

Dorian and Aravel finally get some very deserved alone time together. (I spent so much time on that background lol)

Digital art of two men naked on a bed together. The one on top is an elf with long, reddish-brown hair, settled firmly between the legs of the human male on bottom. They are kissing and, if not actively fucking, then something close to it at least. The bed is covered in silky red, gold and cream bedclothes, with several pillows and a padded, quilted headboard. with a wood upright suggesting it's a canopy bed, and red patterned wallpaper.

Tweaked Aravel in the CC a little bit and it looks more like him now, at least slightly (save, of course, the vallaslin that will never look right). Also, this shield is... just a bit too fititng for him. #aravellavellan
Screenshot of Aravel Lavellan as a Rook, in 3/4 profile. He mostly resembles his Inquisition appearance, but his vallaslin (Ghilan'nain's) barely shows despite being white and at the highest level of brightness/saturation. Aravel from the back, showing a round shield with a stylized halla head and antlers. Screenshot of Aravel in a cutscene, wearing the initial warrior's outfit. His hair is a bit more reddish and jaw narrower than the first attempt at his appearance. Caption: "Rook: We found Solas and stopped his ritual. But things took a turn."

When you have to lose the only progress you made for the day because you didn't save before going into Caer Oswin and your only autosaves are after this happened. Fuck my stupid baka life (but at least I got some pretty shots of Aravel) #aravellavellan
Screenshot from Dragon Age: Inquisition. Inside a stone-walled room, the main character stands in front of an arched doorway with a piece of loot highlighted at the top or the arch, unreachable. Inside it is a key needed to proceed. Aravel Lavellan, a male elf with longish red-brown hair, medium brown skin, brown eyes, and Ghilan'nain's vallaslin in white on his chin and forehead. He wears heavy armor of plate and scalemail, with a dwarven shield on his back. He stands in a stone-walled room, light from a small barred window coming through behind him. Aravel Lavellan again, this time in 3/4 profile, in a room lined with jail cell bars on one side. The light hits him fron behind.

I am truly in tears right now.

Getting to see these angles for the first time...I just. I love them so much. And thank you @mrspissedprole.bsky.social for finding the cam for me.

Aravel Lavellan kissing Dorian Pavus. Aravel has one hand up at the back of Dorian's head. The shot is from the standard cutscene kiss, but from a reverse angle. A different angle of the kiss.

Anyway I tried. #aravellavellan
Aravel Lavellan in Dragon Age: Inquisition, a male elf with longish brown hair swept to the right side of his head, brown eyes, and Ghilan'nain's vallaslin in white on his forehead and chin. He's smiling and looking ot his left. An attempt at recreating Aravel in an opening scene from Veilguard. It mostly resembles him, but his vallaslin can barely be seen.

Roughing out an idea of Aravel singing as he appeared in Somniari and I'm loving his expression especially (also, y'know, leather pants *eyebrow waggle*). WIP.

A rough digital drawing of a male elf with long hair, barechested, with leather pants and a Les Paul Gibson guitar. He holds a mic on its stand with one hand, a guitar pick tucked between his fingers, and the other hand on the neck of the guitar to keep it silent while he scream-sings into the mic, his expression fierce and his eyes closed. Basic colors have been added.

They're still in love and enjoying each other after all these years. (Featuring my canon Inquisitor, Aravel Lavellan.)

#art | #edibleart | #dragonage | #dai | #pavellan | #dorianpavus | #aravellavellan
The finished art of Dorian and Aravel. Dorian lays on his back, hands tucked behind his head; he's smiling up at Aravel Lavellan, who is propped up on his arms over Dorian, his smile wide. Both are shirtless, clothed from the waist down in vaguely Thedosian styles. Aravel, a male elf, has long chestnut hair with some white streaks in it, shaved on the left side and braided at the border where his hair grows out, slightly wavy past his shoulders. His left arm is missing below the elbow and he has a magically animaged prosthetic made of ironbark, with a leather collar to help it stay and a silver ring on the ring finger. Dorian's hair is also long and he has the facial hair seen in Veilguard, with some white streaks. The background is a simple gradient.
