There's a thin layer of cells between the bark and the wood of a tree trunk responsible for its growth in thickness. But in some species, it's also capable of producing substitutes that, who knows, could form a new tree in the future.

There's a thin layer of cells between the bark and the wood of a tree trunk responsible for its growth in thickness. But in some species, it's also capable of producing substitutes that, who knows, could form a new tree in the future.

It's not a lush green, it's in #Barcelona (Mediterranean climate), but the design concept is what's important. A step further would be landscaping in keeping with those climatic conditions, perhaps not as green as we imagine now.
