Corn Palace, Mitchell, South Dakota
📷 April 2009

If you've driven I90 through South Dakota, you've seen signs promoting this place. Enough times along the road, I decided to look. Every year they redecorate with the latest corn harvest.

Exterior view of the Mitchell Corn Palace The interior - a gym/auditorium - is also decorated with images created from ears of corn. Front View of the Mitchel Corn Palace Close up of one of the decorations showing part of Mount Rushmore. My shot missed Lincoln. You can see how the designs are made with ears of corn.
