I'll be glad to see your reaction. Last year at ArmadilloCon we had a panel on, basically, neurodiversity and people kept looking at me as if expecting me to come out...but I delved into the relevant literature when our son was little...and did not meet the criteria for ADHD or autism as laid out

If I hear the radio it’s because I‘m in the car. Which happens 1-2X a week. Then it’s alt rock, classic rock, or NPR. It’s more likely to be an audiobook instead anyway.

I've been locked out of Bluesky for a week because I went to Texas for Armadillocon, and that state requires age verification for social media. I think those laws do very little to protect children and do undermine everyone's privacy and data, so I just didn't use it while I was away.

This being my second ArmadilloCon.......let's just say that I thought a lot about what went into my suitcase because I knew there were STANDARDS* to uphold

A key takeaway from the panels I attended at ArmadilloCon was the subtle use of the 'dark' fantasy sub-genre. Maybe I didn't notice it before, but I noticed the emphasis this time. This is a good thing, part of the beginning of the general relabeling that occurs with genre saturation. Bring it on!

i have to say, the "space tries to kill you" panel was, once again, one of the great joys of @armadillocon.bsky.social this year.

Had fun at Armadillocon. I had a table in the dealers room where on Saturday I was able to set up and let people play with ink for the ghost of my friends @journeyplanet.bsky.social planet issue and make tiaras.

ArmadilloCon was a BLAST. Loved seeing good friends and meeting new friends.
The con ended, everyone left, and I found myself wandering the hotel alone. Fortunately, there was no penalty for leaving early, and they didn't make me pay for tomorrow, so I made the drive home, safe and sound.
