Domestic dame, shaken not stirred by sourpastels

I might have recced this one here before, but it's just such a banger.

Stepford wife Armand, my beloved!

archiveofourown.org/works/645783...

#iwtvfanfic #DevilsMinion

Fic summary:

Armand is perfectly aware that he's ruined Daniel for any chance at a normal life. The boy is turning thirty years old soon—a mere child, of course, but not in the eyes of a mortal. He tries not to dwell on it. A boy as fascinating as Daniel doesn’t want the things society tells him he should be thinking about at his age—a wife, children, the dream of conformity and suburbia that compels this infant country.

Yet, as Daniel drags him to the bedroom and falls asleep, he can’t help but think.

Or: Armand wants to be Daniel's nightmare Stepford wife. It's mostly a sex thing.

Fic summary:

“You loved me,” Daniel says. A statement, not a question.

Armand blinks. “Yes.”

Daniel swallows hard. “And now?”

God, he’s standing so close. Daniel’s heart feels like it’s about to crawl out of his chest.

Those big eyes flicker down to Daniel’s mouth and back up to meet his again.

His voice is soft when he answers. “Why do you think you’re still here, Daniel?”

Fic summary:

“If it's going to be one singular perfect night,” Armand leaned back, opening his eyes and chewing at his lip as his gaze kept cycling between Daniel’s eyes and his lips. “We should have one singular perfect kiss.”

“And how do we accomplish that?” Daniel raised a brow, willing to hear out the idea even though everything in him screamed to just close the scant bit of distance separating them and be done with it.

“We wait,” Armand said with a certainty that Daniel was desperate to change. “Until the end of the night,” he continued with a smile. “And before that we can have the prelude.” Armand’s eyes darted down Daniel’s mouth as his own tongue slipped out to wet his lower lip. “The drumroll.”

“What the hell?” Daniel glared. “You’ve never made me do that before.”

“There wasn’t a line before.” Armand grabbed the iPad that was slung over his shoulder.

“There’s no line now!” Daniel gestured to the store. Sure a few people were browsing, but very distinctly no line.

“It’s a virtual line, Mr. Molloy.”

Fic summary:

Armand pinches him a little, just enough claw in it to break skin.

“Ouch, asshole,” Daniel laughs.

“A touch of discipline. I can’t have the vampire community keep saying my fledgling is spoiled rotten and being disrespectful due to lack of discipline.”

Daniel snorts, then watches Armand nick his own thumb, caress the pinch mark with his own blood, sealing it away, then rub gently back and forth for a while longer, over perfectly smooth skin. Or, well, as perfectly smooth as Daniel’s old man skinsuit from the Forever 69 collection can get.

Or: a Sunday afternoon, with only a little bit of unnamed malaise and a lot of good things to come.

More cake is always the right amount of cake! Another delicious-yet-heartbreaking "Daniel hooks up with a 'stranger'". Yum!

#iwtvfanfic #DevilsMinion

Fic summary:

So she was pregnant. That was fine, thought Daniel, that was fine. Wasn’t too late for the abortion, was it, her trim waist hadn’t even begun to grow too large for his hands to fit onto. Daniel didn’t know a lot about all this, but he knew that much.

Tonight was an alcohol night. He told himself he wasn’t an addict as long as he didn’t mix drugs with drinking, and tonight he needed to be drunk. He wasn’t allowed to sleep in their bed tonight, not after how he’d reacted to Alice’s pregnancy, and he didn’t know where his home for the night would be. Whatever. He’d find a place to crash, he always did.

He was always crashing, landing on the ground with a crunch, and peeling himself back up off the concrete. He didn’t even worry about it anymore. Waste of his energy. He always figured it out in the end. (Except he didn’t have anything figured out, did he? Not really.)

...

Daniel, running from responsibility into the nearest bar, takes comfort in the arms of a familiar stranger.

Fic summary:

“I did not intend to startle you,” Rashid says, setting aside the tablet he always has clutched in his hands. He hadn’t been using it just now, Daniel’s pretty sure. More prop than anything, set dressing, just like those god-forsaken gloves that he’s still wearing at ass-o-clock in the afternoon.

“Why are you awake,” Daniel says, croaks, still trying to swallow down the sip of water that had caught in his throat.

Rashid laughs, low, and the sound ricochets through the room and straight into the cavern of Daniel’s skull. “You’ve stolen my line, Mr. Molloy.”

Daniel opens his eyes just enough to see through his thick lashes, head turning to the side. There's a guy standing next to him. He's well-dressed. Bedworthy. Doable. Foxy. Sex on legs.

or: It’s New Year’s Eve 1986. Armand and Daniel have broken up and even though Daniel doesn’t remember, there’s major fallout. He goes to a club to get hammered and drown his sorrows and ends up meeting a very handsome stranger who gives him what he needs.

Everything I hold dearly, I crush it until it becomes ashes, and I do not know how to stop. Perhaps going into the fire is the only way."

"Stop." Daniel begs, voice trembling. "Yeah, you're right, I can't tell you that. I can't tell you that because it's not fucking true."

Help wanted identifying voices on old cassette tape (one voice possibly featured on news)

Hi, guys, I originally posted this on r/CursedThriftStoreFinds, and I was directed here. I’m not gonna go into all the details of my original post, if you want you can check it out here. Long story short, I have an old cassette tape, and we’re trying to identify who the voices on it might be. One user mentioned VOICE B sounding familiar, like they heard it recently on the news. It’s been driving me crazy for weeks now, I’d really appreciate the help. I’m attaching the transcript and some audio samples below. Thanks.

u/dontbouncethedog
excuse me why the fuck is there only one set of footsteps in those clips?!
