I am genuinely very deeply confused by this.

i don't use fancy 3D renderings, i just photograph each step by hand and then edit out the armatures holding each piece 😇

i have a bit. it is projection based, modified 35mm still projectors and sets of armatures for filters and intermediaries. george kuchar called them my special effects

What is common knowledge in your field, but shocks outsiders?
3d animation is closer to stop motion animation in how it's made, than it is to traditional drawn 2d animation. We just have extremely fine control over our "armatures".

Talking to my cousin about Star Trek: ENT and I learned something. Our g-uncle helped design the lunar lander. The armatures that steer the deflector dish on the NX Enterprise are exactly the legs on the NASA lunar lander. How about that? My relative designed a Star Trek thingy. Sort of.

Sketching out Haley's hip joints and stuff but it turned kinda lewd. With her new transformation, her midriff can be exposed pistons.
