@JayPosnerSD tweeted Now that they actually wear the cool uniforms their owners refused to use regularly in San Diego, it’s not too often the Chargers play a game where they don’t look better than their opponent. This will be one of those games. Love the Tampa throwback. 💬 @AroundTheNFL Chargers

Brian Johnson could be on the move once again. The former Utah quarterback will interview with the Houston Texans for the team’s offensive coordinator role, according to a Thursday report from Tom Pelissero of NFL Network. > Texans plan to interview Commanders assistant HC/pass game coordinator Brian Johnson on Friday for vacant OC job, per @TomPelisserohttps://t.co/8dZ74pgydf pic.twitter.com/1AFngtpgg8 > > — Around The NFL (@AroundTheNFL) January 30, 2025 Johnson is currently the assistant head coach and passing game coordinator for the Washington Commanders, where he helped to guide the league’s fourth-best passing offense in 2024 and mentored superstar rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels. Prior to his year in Washington, Johnson spent three seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles as the team’s quarterbacks coach and then offensive coordinator. While Johnson’s Philadelphia unit finished 2023 as the No. 7 overall scoring offense, the Eagles closed out the regular season on a 1-6 skid before losing in the wild card round of the playoffs, leading to his eventual dismissal. He then interviewed for multiple head coaching vacancies before landing on the Commanders’ staff. Johnson passed for 7,838 yards and 57 touchdowns in his four-year career at Utah, most famously taking down No. 4 Alabama in the 2009 Sugar Bowl. His success in working with both Daniels and Jalen Hurts makes Johnson an intriguing candidate for the Texans, whose own young quarterback C.J. Stroud has already won playoff games in each of his first two NFL seasons.
